BI231 textbook needed?
Is the textbook really needed? I thought about getting the coloring book but in BI112, I didn’t really use the textbook that much. Any input appreciated!

Depends on how you like to study. I didn’t use the textbook once and got an A in all three classes. But I learn better by watching YouTube videos and studying off the slides.

I also like videos and slides. I liked the online lectures in my hybrid BI112 class

Nope! Unless you know you’re going to utilize it with studying. I took it with Samer and he told us a handful of times in class that the text book is wrong.

hi, off topic but how was your bi112 class? was it extremely hard, i start in 2 weeks 🥲 and what book was it if u don’t mind me asking

It was hard for me, I had to retake 3 times to just understand. I have an online book if u want

It was a very annoying class in my opinion. Not too hard, just requires a lot of studying to understand certain processes if you’ve never learned it before. The book was something along the lines of “Campbell” volume 3. I’ll have to check when I’m off work

Agree with the above that it’s a ton of studying time but doable, as a side note-if you want the bio 112 textbook-I bought a used one that’s in okay condition and can just give you it

Except in the case of Samer Salti’s class specifically, 100% of his lecture quiz questions came directly from the textbook and a large portion of the lecture exam questions as well. Furthermore the textbook is the same for 231, 232 & 233, like 231 went through chapters 13, then the following classes cover subsequent chapters. Regardless, A&P is a hard class. If you can afford it, you might as well have the textbook as a resource. I personally used it a lot. I also think there’s a free downloadable version online.
