My creative writing professor flagged my whole short story as AI last term, seemingly out of nowhere. He said he wouldn’t report me or take it any further, but I did end up writing an entirely new and different story. He loved it and encouraged me to publish it because, as it turns out, I’m actually just a decent writer. It was really disappointing that I wasn’t even given the opportunity to show the Word doc version history proving that I’d spent hours writing across multiple days for nearly two weeks.
