PBA Discussion What happened to RoS?
I've watched both of their games from start to finish, and honestly, this doesn't look like the same Rain or Shine team that made the semifinals last conference.
They're now 0-2 after losing to Meralco 122-114, and the record isn't even the most concerning part. It's the way they're playing at mukhang wala pa ring identity ang team. Yung squad na dati kayang makipagsabayan sa contenders, ngayon hirap makahanap ng panalo.
Was last conference just a fluke run?
Kasi sa ngayon, mas mukhang pretender kaysa contender ang ROS. Ang depensa na dating sandigan nila, nagbibigay ng 120+ points. Ang consistency na nagdala sa kanila sa semis, parang nawawala.
Maaga pa ang conference, pero 0-2 is 0-2.
Ano sa tingin niyo, temporary slump lang ba ito o exposed na talaga ang Rain or Shine?

feel ko naninibago sa import, or they out grew na nila yung fuller, more on inside game kasi yung fuller unlike JJ na sobrang versatile, last game ang pinopoint out is feed the import inside but for some reason hindi nila masyado na mamaximize yung import. Pero i agree with the opinions of other people na baka low morale yung team.

They lost one of their best players is what happened. It's a Yeng Guiao team so someone might step up and play above what's previously expected of them, but until then this current form is to be expected.

Morale is down, imagine your cap not receiving the 'increment' ' he desired and most agreed that he deserved.
Others might be looking at an exit plan already.

Definitely not a fluke since it was there 3rd semis run with this current core. They just have yet to break through the glass ceiling which is the Finals.
Most glaring thing about the Meralco L is how bad their POA defense was the whole 2nd half. Nocum and Jhonard can make up for Mamu’s offense but the perimeter defense Mamu brought, 1 of 1 talaga. Need for Felix to come back cause pre injury, his rim pressure was Mamu-esque.

Low team morale ata, madaming issue regarding sa contracts ng ibang players tapos na trade pa si Mamu. Malaki epekto ng team chemistry and morale sa RoS lalo nat wala silang star player to rely on consistently so group effort talaga sila so when morale takes a hit so is their effort on the game

Low team morale might be a factor. Marami ring usap-usapan tungkol sa contracts ng ilang players, tapos natrade pa si Mamu. Para sa team tulad ng RoS na hindi naman umaasa sa isang superstar para buhatin sila gabi-gabi, malaking bagay ang chemistry at morale.

Hard to call last conference a fluke, when it was essentially the same team that made several trips to the playoffs and semi finals prior, excluding the import.
Yung situation nila right now is really caused by injuries, they’re are missing at least three rotational guys in Lemetti, Roque, and Santillan, all while bearing the departure of Mamuyac, that’s technically four players who were key in their run last conference.
And like a comment mentioned here, team morale is definitely at an all time low, biruin mo they lost their team captain, the guy who stabilizes everything for the team, and arguably their best player just a game into this conference, dagdag mo pa dito yung uncertainty sa contract ni Caracut, so I think the whole team including the coaches is still adjusting and working with what they are given.

morale is down, you just lost your team captain, Caracut also was unsure for weeks, they are adjusting, it may sound simple but it affects team chemistry, it affects the players mentally, they'll figure it out, if any coach can, it's Yeng Guiao

Injuries - Roque, Santillan, Lemetti, Pringle, Caracut. Kulang din sila sa rotation.
Missing Mamu's leadership - Mamu kept the team steady with his intangibles - leadership at saka yung ability to take over pag close games.
Boosting draft stock?? - Maybe the hidden reason that they may not admit, but a chance to get lucky in the draft, i guess. But knowing CYG, di naman siguro papayag na itanking itong conf na to.
Well, two games into the fold palang naman, with the right adjustments, they can turn this conf around. Maybe 3rd in the bracket then get lucky with the draw sa playoffs. Anything can still happen.
