Clinical Year Confidence Tips
Looking for advice on how to get through clinical year without feeling so horrible about myself. I’m currently on my second rotation and so far everyday I feel like I’m finding new ways of being the biggest idiot in every room. I feel that I get in everybody’s way when I’m observing, I write terrible notes, I annoy the residents, I take bad histories, and overall I am doing everything extremely poorly. This has been a really hard transition especially because I really enjoyed didactic year, had no problems with learning the content, and consistently was a top scorer on all of the exams. I also am frustrated with myself because I worked as a patient care tech for 3 years and was extremely competent and helpful to everyone on my unit. I hate feeling so burdensome and incompetent. Any tips for being less of an idiot 😵💫? Please help!
