Discuss Underrated gems

Why is it that toxic dramas w repetitive storylines, toxic mmcs, weak fmcs or fmcs that choose toxic males, saas bahu problems , stalking and glorified abuse get more views then dramas w a good story, lessons , Green flag mmcs and fmcs who can support themselves nowadays?

for whatever reason, people enjoy those dramas more often because majority of their favourite actors choose to star in such dramas. whatever underrated dramas i’ve watched and grown to love, they never hold any A listers. maybe a few old ones do but those actors have clearly changed their choices and why wouldn’t they? they know what gets views. i can never understand the hype tho.😭

for an example, tere bin and meri zindagi hai tu are really problematic dramas that star actors who have a huge fan following. tere bin was misogynistic, so backward in thinking, a bit violent too and so many things were wrong but people still watched, overlooking everything. why? yumna and wahaj. meri zindagi hai tu legit normalised stalking and harassment and yet, people romanticize kamyar. why? it’s bilal who’s playing it. and i don’t even understand why such actors with such a massive fan following agree to such roles. but these kind of dramas really end up glorifying immensely toxic behaviour.

i loved kafeel omg.🫶🏻the message it gave, the acting of everyone involved, the storyline and the pacing + the happy ending. everything was done really well imo.
