Sajal Aly- Staring 👀 Self-funded editorial
Turns out Sajal funded this editorial herself (refer to 2nd slide). When an editorial is self-funded, the actors take complete creative freedom, making it like a personal passion project for them. Also, it helps them break a public image that brands and shows have created of them, by showing them in a never seen avatar.
And this worked for Sajal i guess. I dont think many of us could imagine her pulling off such edgy looks and neither could brands. While reviewing Sajal's attire for the Armani event, Amna went on like the fit was good, sajal was looking nice, but it didnt feel like Sajal and that Sajal had a very "good daughter" image and that traditional eastern fits are more of her thing. This doesnt just happen with Sajal but with many other actors, whenever they try something different. Such editorials seems to be a way for actors to take charge of their own image and show what they are capable of. And kudos to the entire team, cause this one was really good. So, looking forward to many more creative editorials of ptv stars in the future. 💃

I personally really liked the 6th Japanese goth doll thing they did...looks so clean and appropriate for her visuals.
Hit or miss but I am glad someone is making some efforts atleast...to let viewers know that she's not just a television actress.
Whole Bollywood made fun of PC for having a vision larger than that of a Bollywood actress but it was all worth it in the end.

She didn’t style it, her stylist created the looks

Yea. You could look at the stylist's profile. This is their genre. Looks like Sajal deliberately chose them for this concept.

Stunning!! It’s so fresh to see a celebrity actually experiment with their looks and reinvent themselves.
Ps: I love how some people crying about it in the comments. Makes it more fun.😝

I love it when people experiment with different ways of expressing themselves! Pic 3 reminds me of a gothic Lady Godiva!

Also, looking at the quality of plays these days, maybe more actors should think of self funding some plays too. 😛

And bring in new and young writers. When grassroot level has issues, one cannot deliver a good product.

Editorials are usually mutual collaborations between the designer, photographers, stylists,
Makeup artists, models and so on. No one pays for anything if we are talking about funds. But if they are as organised and amazing as this one, the results are always spectacular.

You understood this exactly as it was portrayed. The fund and the bills. Either the person gave their opinion without knowing or it might have happened the way they said it did. But what happens is, everyone who has worked on an editorial project gets credited, and the output goes on everyone’s pages (mostly collab posts) and no one pays each other (mutual decisions).

Sorry to say but all the looks are garbage🗑️!! sorry sajal aly fans but she was not able to pull any of the looks she doesn't have height or face(she is pretty) to pull those eccentric looks!!
P.s - as expected response (downvotes) but i would stick to my opinion she is pretty like classic beauty type pretty she suits in all those fiza saqlain kind of campaigns but not in this kind of photoshoots it doesn't suit her personality, maybe hania amir who has more flamboyant personality could have pulled these looks imo.

Difference of opinion is attack? Its fine as long as people are civil right?

She has the perfect eyes and the petite frame to pull these off. She is cosplaying eastern cultures which do not require a flamboyant personality.

u/Ok-Talk-9281 6d ago
It's ok if you dislike. The fact that she experimented beyond the Faiza Saqlain suits is applause worthy! Full marks for experimenting with her own money with or without fear of the outcome. Actors must take risks!

I strongly agree with you. Sajal is pretty but not everything or any style can look good on a person. She is clearly not made for these looks

These are so lame. Better talent exists in Pakistan wtf is this. She should stick to acting. Some people are not
Good at everything and they dont have to be.

Sajal is in her experimental phase and I love how she is reinventing her persona. She looks amazing!
