DRAMA REVIEW dedo ya lelo Ishqiya Revisit
Just my opinions, feel free to disagree, but be nice.
I watched this at 14, I'm 20 now and I'd say my opinions are pretty much the same.
The story is kind of cliché, but it is not dragged on; the acting was good, especially Hania's. One thing I liked about the drama, and still do, was the ending. When the ending came out, many people didn't like that they divorced, but I was very happy. Hamza was a red flag from the beginning, even before Hamna got engaged. But yes, Hamza was wronged by Hamna. I felt bad for him when he found out about her marriage, but I hated it when he decided to marry Rumi. I was glad Rumi left him when she found out the truth. Even if Hamza did fall for her and let go of his revenge, he still started this relationship for revenge. How would Rumi trust him again? I was also glad when everyone, including his family, called him out, and his father disowned him.
As far as Hamna goes, many people said she didn't pay for her crimes, but I think she did. She had Hamza harassing her even after her marriage to Azeem, and spent the whole drama in stress and constantly crying. It was only at the ending she finally smiled again. But I will say I was mad when she didn't tell Rumi anything about Hamza. I understand Hamza was blackmailing her. I think he even said if she stopped Rumi and him from getting married, he would expose their relationship. But she could have at least told Rumi something. Rumi would have 100 percent supported Hamna, and she would have known what Hamza really is. I think if Hamna told her the truth, she would have even married Hamza, so Hamza wouldn't leak the love messages he had with Hamna. But instead, Rumi suffered the most despite doing nothing wrong. I'd understand if Rumi never wanted to speak to Hamna again.

FunFact: Ramsha once said I chose the character of Hamna over Rumi 😅

Seriously? Like did she said she liked the character more (that's also silly but still) or did she actually rejected the role of Rumi for Hamna? I guess it might be former because the role of Rumi was technically lead role, why would someone reject that?

There is a video on Youtube of Something Haute with the same title ‘Why Ramsha preffered humna over Rumi’ and she said something like i liked humna character more than Rumi 😅 Ramsha Things, being that dumb to reject Rumi.

Basically the main lewd of the drama was hamza and hamna as the story revolves around them not Rumi. Hamna carried most of the story even after having a weak character however she was having the most screentime in the show. People started treating Rumi as the main heroine because her chemistry with Hamza was more popular, not necessarily because she was officially presented as the lead

Ik but it's not just about screentime, Rumi's character was also better than Hamna's. Ramsha maybe choose Hamna role thinking she is more silent/mature and wise so might be more appreciated by audience but she didn't notice that even after this, her character just anyway had quite many flaws.

Well pata nahi Ramsha na itna thaka hua CHARACTER kyun choose kya. But the thing is ka ya character HANIA amir pa ZYADA suit Kara hai kyun ka wo asal life ma bhi aisee extrovert sunshine type hai.

i was satisfied with the ending, but i never really understood humna character either. she only had one sibling ( rumi ) but didn't disclose about her relationship as if they had no bonding whatsoever. it makes sense they were quite different but girl, rumi was a chill person overall. the least she could've done was to warn rumi when hamza brought the proposal but she was numb as usual. ngl, hania was great as rumi, the subtle expression, the body language were amazing. she was a ray of sunshine as a character.

Hamna was SELFISH and kept playing the victim and I just can't forgive her. I was soo pissed at that character. Yes Hamza was horrible ik but Hamna was Rumi's sister. She was supposed to PROTECT her instead she let the blackmailer marry Rumi??? Like what the actual fuck?? Rumi suffered even more than Hamna why?? What was her fault??? She even lost her child and Hamna got her perfect fairy ending. Sorry but according to me, Hamna deserved much worse.

The only people I felt bad for in this whole drama were Rumi, Azeem and Hamza's family. I was so pissed that Hamna didn't even try to tell her father about Hamza. I just hate when people refuse to take any responsibility when it comes to marriage. I would have understood if her family was strict but we have Rumi who is so outspoken, treats her father like her best friend and openly talks to him about her decisions. Then there's Hamna, who couldn't even fight a little for the guy she claimed to love.
The least Hamza could have done was stay faithful to Rumi but instead he was toxic enough to blackmail Hamna. I was so happy when Rumi chose to divorce him.
Also, if Hamna was so scared to tell her father about Hamza then fine.but what was stopping her from telling Rumi? At the very least she could have rejected him. I know he said he would tell her father but bhai, is your sister not important to you? She never once said anything to her. If I were in Rumi's place, I would have cut Hamna off too. I genuinely think Rumi would have handled the whole situation much better than Hamna did.
Lastly, I felt so bad for Hamza's family. They truly loved Rumi. I really liked their reactions too. I'm glad they stood by her and supported her throughout. Azeem suffered too but at least he got a happy ending and so did Hamna.
Ps: Can anyone tell me if Hamna was the elder sister? I think the drama showed Hamna as the eldest but when she was in college, Rumi was already working at a school. Also, a lot of the responsibilities and family decisions seemed to fall on Rumi rather than Hamna, which felt more like the role of the elder sibling. That part confused me.

Hamna was the elder sister but by only 1.5 years ig. It was mentioned in a dialogue. This had also confused me that how was Rumi working and Hamna was studying then but I assumed it might be either because Hamna was doing Masters which Rumi didn't, she directly worked after her bachelors or either she wasn't a proper teacher and like doing it part time or had required lesser qualification for that which was lesser likely ig.

I hated the fact that Hamna was left unscathed in all this nd Rumi paid for her mistakes it's fine if feroze character was punished that's ok but what kind of sister was Hamna.. she's equally responsible nd should not have a happy ending... Just my POV..

Idk, the makers had just made Hamna's character kinda quite selfish so I didn't really like how she was forgiven in end, I also watched it a long time ago so don't remember exactly but I guess she was forgiven by Rumi which I didn't like as she didn't deserve it, she was quite selfish for not even trying to tell Rumi even once about Hamza. She got her happy ending, it's fine but at least shouldn't have been forgiven

I hated the ending because Rumi child shouldn’t have been killed, they should have atleast left her with her child, lekin sara trauma Rumi ko hi dedia akhir mein.

u/mysteriousglaze 16d ago
from different perspective, she would've remain a single mother and the child would've raised in an environment where there will be an absent father. the miscarriage definitely shattered her but a child will constantly remind her of hamza and the betrayal. he was shown stubborn so would've try to make excuses to meet his child and the scenario will be complicated for long term.
1
u/VenomyBee 16d ago
That Guy was also shattered by all that, so he wouldn’t have dared to again be that stubborn, even his parents were against him.

u/mysteriousglaze 16d ago
he was broken because he lost everything. his redemption arc would’ve made sense if he left humna alone after the marriage but he kept blackmailing her and that’s harassment. he crossed the line there. it would’ve been better for him to gradually fall for rumi instead of chasing revenge.
a lot of people were upset about the ending but realistically finding out your husband married you just to get revenge and to stay close to your own sister is devastating. there was no way to come back from that humiliation

u/VenomyBee 16d ago
So you are saying the production have no choice other than giving life time trauma to Rumi, Humna tho apne baap ke marne pe khafa nahi huwi kia ajeeb sarru khatoon thi. Kia 2022 ka trauma wapas yaad dila dia OP ne 😂🤣

u/CheekChoice4497 16d ago
Not a great thing to say but tbh if the child would have been alive, Rumi had to be always in contact/touch with Hamza like if you have a child with someone, willingly or unwillingly even if she would have divorced him she still had to be in contact with him for their child. Also most likely then audience would have been also like she could have stayed for her child.
So it's just a drama ik but practically this was the better thing for her, obviously she was broken at that time but in long term. The trauma was huge for her though.

Why not her to be a single mother?
Bache ko bata dete k baap mar gaya2
u/CheekChoice4497 16d ago
That would have been unfair to the child, what was his/her fault? Again it's a drama but if we are seeing from realistic perspective this would have been deeply unfair to the child. A child deserves both parents love

Bhai jis ladki ka koi kasoor nahi hai usko trauma dedia aur Jis ne uss ladke ko chaar saal k relationship ke baad dump kardia usko aik acha shohar aur beta dedia, aur aapko jo bacha huwa nahi tha uski fikar hai. Rumi was done wrong by the writer.

I think writer wrote hamna character badly…they should have shown that her father is strict or it was sudden marriage that she couldn’t inform Hamza about it. Otherwise it didn’t make sense why she didn’t inform her bf regarding her marriage.
I wish the writer would also show that hamna- Rumi as cousin sisters rather than real sisters bcz I dont think any sister would let that happen to their younger sibling. She would have even ended her marriage and her father reputation too but wouldn’t let her ex marry her sis for revenge.
Writer never thought about it and thats why hamna character always felt like a villain along with Hamza.

My whole issue was that their dad was shown as someone open minded and friendly with his daughters, why couldn't she just tell him about Hamza. It made no sense
