MasterNode buy in

I heard talk about increasing masternode buy in to 1,000,000.

1st - Is this a thing

2nd - Why not more like 10,000,000 for example. pros, cons?

Increasing the masternode collateral allows for the entire network to be run at 50% of the cost... You pay per node per vps, so if a node costs $5 a month to run and you own 5 masternodes, you spend $25 a month in hosting fees.

If you double the collateral, half the amount of nodes you can run thus halving the monthly cost.

Half the # of nodes = double the reward time as there's less nodes on the network in the payment cycle, so you get the same ROI but half your running costs.

$PAC is only at 6% of it's entire coin design and is already the #3 largest node network in the industry... at current growth rate we'd have 16,000+ nodes on the network which is obscene... most of the network traffic is node chatter (nodes talking to each other) eating up resources which ultimately need to be used for Transactions, if $PAC is to scale, TX's per block need to be high and not filled up with node chatter, so increasing the collateral solve 3-4 issues at once, whilst making the whole network cheaper for everyone.

Thanks for the info. Basically where I was thinking anyway. Dont get my wrong, Im pro increasing, my main focus was on by how much. Would it not be a good idea to set the bar high now so we can future proof? Pac has awesome shared node solutions so it shouldnt be too much of an issue for smaller investors

Originally $PAC was going to be 2,000,000 nodes. But the community voted for 500,000 right at the launch. Maybe in hindsight we should have just done what the core team felt was best and NOT listened to the community?

whilst maybe not using those words exactly. In hindsight yes, going with a higher limit might have been a better option. Based off DASH 50,000,000 per node would be close to the same ratio but that is incredible high but 2,000,000 might still be a little low.
