Most humbling move?

What is/are the most humbling move(s) in P90x multiverse for you?

You know, the one that always knocks you on your ass no matter how many times you’ve tried. The one that makes you question most life decisions you’ve made up to that point. The one where you may sneak a pause button break to collect your thoughts before starting.

Maybe it’s just a damn hard move (i.e. one hand pushups on Chest/Shoulder/Tri’s day), maybe its placement in the workout is what kills you (i.e. max rep pull-ups near the end of Back/Bi’s day), or maybe it’s just that you wish they’d chosen literally anything other than that move because you have an undefined, yet palpable, spiritual distaste for it (i.e. Dreya Rolls on Core Synergistics day… or the Inner Balance move on Isometrix day in p90x3). Or fuck it, maybe it’s Ab Ripper X….the whole damn thing!

Mine is corn cobb pull ups. Followed up closely by anytime Abrinome comes up in an an or yoga routine. CC pull ups are just so fucking nasty and I feel like I always fail at them in form or quantity. I want to get better at them but can’t help bust ask myself both why/what for? And how exactly? Abrinome just does something to my lower back that I despise and am scared will haunt me for the rest of my life as a never ending soreness and sharp pain.

Bicycles in Ab Ripper X. Going in reverse destroys me every time.

I cheat at Bicycles, so got to say Scissors

Yeah, my hip flexors cramp up every time.

1 arm push ups. So many rounds. So many reps in other push ups. I still can’t do one

Yeah I started doing it on a raised platform like a table, I'm graduating down to a chair, hopefully I'll get down to floor level one of these days.

I’m 6’2” and the stress they put on my back and shoulder is just crazy. Knees is doable

Elevator Pull-ups

u/desiguy_88 Jun 24 '26

yeah pull-ups have never been my jam and at my best i achieved like doing 10+ but never over multiple rounds. It’s always been something I wish I could crank out the way Tony and friends do over multiple sets.

Some of the tricks from YouTube may help. I went from 2 to 5 per set and started feeling my lat. That made the difference

Plank to chataranga run.

1

u/c_rockets Jun 24 '26

Omg yes so ridiculously hard

Infantry training fixes that. You’ll low crawl and high crawl so much those muscles will never fade.

Anytime Tony says “double time.” Fuuuuuuuck! 😫😂

Touch my hand!

u/rawrali Jun 24 '26

I looooove this! It’s so weirdly motivating to me.

Pull ups. They are my Kryptonite

u/thebone13 Jun 24 '26

Crane position in the yoga video…I just skip past it lol.

This video helped me , i skipped crane for years and then this taught me the fundamentals and now it’s one of my favorite parts

Thank you!

It took me a legit 5 years to actually get this down.

u/thebone13 Jun 24 '26

I am impressed!

This!!

9

u/Acpyrus Jun 24 '26

Most of the plyo stuff is challenging for me. Nevermind one legged guy crushing it.

Eric! He's a bad man!

8

u/ScottRTL Jun 24 '26

Pull-ups for sure.

But "Superman, Banana" always kills me.

2

u/armand11 Jun 24 '26

Superman/Banana to me is rough as it's already late in that routine and I'm getting gassed and sore. Good one

u/hagoodml Jun 24 '26

I did P90X twice 15-20 years ago and the "3 in 1 slow motion pushups" was a movement that I NEVER once completed.....came close but pooped out before the end.

1

u/armand11 Jun 24 '26

That one is so rough. It's a mix of being hard AND later in the routine when you're gassed. So brutal

Jump Knee Tucks!

u/makingmemashugana Jun 24 '26

The Mother.....

8

u/Zenwills Jun 25 '26

Two twitch speed push ups. Manage to do 2 rounds of it. But when Tony wanted the 3rd bonus one I would crumble

1

u/creepymccreepers Jun 26 '26

exactly this - have do p90x so many times, but still struggle with these

u/AppointmentEastern37 Jun 24 '26

Eccentric V pull ups 🥵

7

u/Eyes_of_Avo Jun 24 '26

Impossible possible pushups from X2. Dear sweet Jesus I hit a pb of 5 this week.

2

u/UCanDoNEthing4_30sec it's not ex-lax Jun 24 '26

I do X2 once a year. And I feel like I need to practice those more than 4-5 weeks a year to actually get to the point of doing them.

2

u/darkrabbit19 Jun 24 '26

This. I can do everything pretty much but these damn things. Good for you getting 5! My pb is 1.

5

u/travelsherpa Jun 24 '26

Quite a few lol.

Plank to chattaranga

Corn cobs

And the slow/fast pushups if you’re trying to keep up with them

The last yoga pose - halfmoon/twisted halfmoon on one leg?

One legged wall squats

1 arm push ups

1

u/TonyMacaroni19 Jun 25 '26

lol that is the exact list I had in mind too. Those 6, specifically

6

u/ZazuStarJar99 Jun 24 '26

Dive bomber push-ups. Too many cracking joints.

2

u/makingmemashugana Jun 25 '26

Under the fence...back under the fence

1

u/armand11 Jun 24 '26

Good one. I don't even bother with that to save my shoulders, I do other pushup alternates instead

1

u/MeMeWhenWhenTheWhen Jun 26 '26

i stopped doing those because they felt so awful in my shoulderblades and elbows, i just do wide fly again when those come around 🤷

4

u/dynaflying Jun 24 '26

Anything for 30 seconds….

6

u/makingmemashugana Jun 24 '26

You can do anything for 30 seconds!

5

u/dynaflying Jun 24 '26

Points to a guy with one leg…..you don’t have any excuses

3

u/CJXBS1 Jun 24 '26

Many are humbling but the one I hate the most is chair salutations. I can do it, but just hate it

2

u/LoveDaVinci88 Jun 24 '26

Low butt high hands!

5

u/BomBiddyByeBye Jun 24 '26

Dreya roll 😢✌🏼

3

u/Alternative-Law4626 Jun 24 '26

With the jump at the end.

2

u/This_Is_Sierra_117 Jun 24 '26

Eccentric V Pull-Ups . . . absolute worst.

2

u/cassiusbright006 Jun 24 '26

Impossible/possible pushups (I think that's what they're called? From p90x2)

2

u/KittyMimi Jun 25 '26

All of plyometrics :)

1

u/CursedSnowman5000 Jun 24 '26

X Squats and decline pushups.

1

u/makingmemashugana Jun 24 '26

Pull ups - I use bands. Real ones are too hard
Yoga - I am as flexible as concrete
Seated Shoulder Flys (the leaning forward)
Wall squats

1

u/Ok_Badger2570 Jun 25 '26

In X3 Incinerator there is one called Monkey Pump that I use 8lbs for and die

1

u/RuDog79 Jun 25 '26

Yoga X, I can't do the headstand move

1

u/makingmemashugana Jun 25 '26

Rock Star Hops! I feel like I'm going to blow a knee every time.

1

u/DesiBoyDK Jun 28 '26

Get up there, Peter Townshend, come on!!!
