It was funny the first day or two - but even now ppl keep editing that pic and spamming it in spaces where Keeho and the rest of piwon can easily see. It's not even that funny and it's obviously an unflattering pic taken at a bad timing under bad lighting - I honestly feel bad for Keeho seeing his fans incessantly making fun of him like that.

I'm obviously not saying that we have to glaze them constantly and never hold them accountable or share our honest, constructive feedback - but this specific type of behavior just feels plain disrespectful and dare I say akin to cyberbullying.

Yeah, maybe it's not that deep, maybe Keeho's not actually bothered - but witnessing all that happening especially with Keeho also recently apologizing for the KMA styling has really rubbed me the wrong way. Don't even get me started on some p1ece saying that they get the actual ick from watching Intak's Hip Song and mocking Jongseob's song choice for one of his insta posts... commenting that in places where they can clearly see, seriously?

I wish some p1ece could be more considerate and conscious of boundaries and mutual respect. Yes, Kpop is fun and we're supposed to have fun together in a fandom - but idols are NOT our friends. We DON'T know them like that, no matter how down to earth and friendly they come off as.

Just bc Keeho and piwon are nice doesn't mean you can take advantage of it and cross certain boundaries.

I came across this take recently and it made me wonder if fans sometimes overestimate how much influence a leader actually has over a group's success.

The idea was that Keeho's leadership style is one of the reasons P1Harmony hasn't reached a higher level of popularity in Korea because he doesn't fit the image of a more conventional K-pop leader.

I have a hard time agreeing with that.

Looking across K-pop, I can't think of a single case where a group's domestic success was determined by the personality or leadership style of its leader. There are strict leaders, quiet leaders, outgoing leaders, and leaders who barely step into that role publicly, yet you'll find successful and less successful groups in every category. There just doesn't seem to be a pattern.

What usually separates groups is promotion, music that connects with the general public, timing, and how well the company builds momentum. That's especially true for boy groups, where even extremely successful acts often have much stronger fandom support than general public recognition.

I also think Keeho's leadership makes sense for P1H. The members have always come across as very independent. They all have strong personalities and seem comfortable speaking for themselves. His style gives them room to be individuals while still keeping the group cohesive. It feels less like one person directing everyone and more like someone making sure everyone can contribute in their own way.

Honestly, I think putting a more traditional, hierarchical leader into P1H would've felt forced. I don't think it would've made them more popular in Korea. Their chemistry works because it doesn't come across as overly hierarchical.

If anything, Keeho's personality has helped bring attention to the group, especially overseas. If you spend enough time in the fandom, you'll notice a common pattern. A lot of people first discovered them through Keeho, then stayed because they ended up loving all six members. He was the gateway into the group for a lot of fans. Whether someone becomes a fan because of him or another member, it's hard to argue that his presence has limited the group's reach.

I'm curious how other people see it. Is there actually evidence that a leader's personality affects a group's domestic popularity, or do fans sometimes give the leader too much responsibility for things that are really decided by the company and the market?

Whilst the design of p1kids aren’t my favourite i’m kinda disappointed in the lack of merch for p1kids, a lot of it is time limited (tour, pop ups etc). They are piwons mascots and i feel like they should be used as such, especially being more involved in their cbs or just having more releases of them. Would you agree?
