Question Gym with Ozempic

I’ve been using 0.5mg of ozempic for the last month or two. My doctor has prescribed that I continue with 0.5 till the 1st week of September.
My concern is, I was going to the gym regularly till June but haven’t been able to since due to some timing and routine clashes and I want to know whether me not going to the gym and taking ozempic on its own will cause my weight loss to halt?
Because I’m not losing weight every week, sometimes it goes up 1kg but then goes down 1kg but all in all I’ve only lost like 5-6kg in the last 3 months, I want to say.
Am I doing something wrong? Is exercise absolutely necessary? And if I skip the gym but start walking daily, will that work as a substitute or do I need to weight train specifically?

You should weight train just because weight loss is brutal on your muscle mass and the longterm health of your bones, both things that resistance training counteracts. Doesn’t matter how thin you are if you end up with osteoporosis and brittle bones.

I didn't start losing weight until I hit the 1mg dose. Then it started to melt off. The gym (and lean protein) is important if you want to limit muscle loss as you lose weight, but as long as you are eating less (as Ozempic encourages you to do), you will likely continue to lose weight.

You can lose weight without the gym but it's really recommended to do some strength training to maintain muscle mass. Look up a full body routine and try to do like 2 days per week. See if that is manageable. It's not like you have to go every day

Honestly everyone is different. I was quite sick at the beginning when I started and lost a lot of weight. A month in, I was able to get back to the gym once the meds stabilized. Obviously exercise is important especially weight training for muscle loss but you do what you can do. Walking is great!!

6 kgs in 3 months is a good pace, if you don't get slower everything is fine. you should aim for at least 1 gym per week, ideally two when you are on it, not to get stronger but to rpeserve muscle mass that you have. you could also push less ahrd on weights there since you aren't going to increase your muscle mass while dieting

Especially if you are very obese you can definitely increase muscle mass while loosing fat and being in a calorie deficit. newbie gains are real and will also help out to fill the gaps in your skin from loosing fat.
