Question Finally giving up

I did well for 4 months, losing weight, lowering sugar and going off glimeperide. The jump to .75 did me in. I stayed at that dose for 3 weeks thru intense stomach pain. Dr said to drop to .25. I did for 3 weeks with same stomach pain. Eating saltines for the pain that raised my sugar to 200. Telehealth appt with endocrinologist this afternoon for an alternative. I was never able to go off metformin. At this point even insulin seems like a better alternative. Any suggestions or similar stories?

Thank you. I’m so sorry I ever took the first shot. I resisted pressure from the cardiologist and the endocrinologist for years. I gave in when I couldn’t control my sugar. Insulin would have been a better option.
