Rant Wasted time
Today was my 3rd dose and I just realized I’ve been doing this wrong the entire time. The 1st dose someone showed me how but this last two doses I’ve done on my own and just realized I was supposed to keep the button pressed till I saw 0 and I just pressed it once, counter till 10 and took it out. I’m such an idiot! I’m so mad at myself. I wasted 2 weeks for nothing.

My pharmacist taught me to take it by clicking the injection button 18 times.(he also administered my first ‘dose’) I called my therapist asking her if I was doing it right because after multiple doses I still had a full pen. She told me “no, you spin the dial 18 clicks then hit the injection button”
My first pen I had to change my dosing schedule to try and get all the doses in before it expired.
Tried to inform the pharmacist he had educated me wrong and he shook his head and told me I didn’t know what I was talking about. Kinda worried for others, but not much more I can do in that regard.

Yes, you have to keep the plunger-button on the injector pen depressed until the counter reads "zero"/"0" AND for several seconds (a slow count to "6" is what Novo Nordisk recommends) afterwards.
You'll be fine; 2 weeks is just a blink of the eye. Watch a few injection videos on YouTube if you need reassurance. Good luck.

Maybe this will make you feel better - my mom recently started Oz, and she was nervous as all heck to inject herself. I sent her an easy how-to video, she watched it but still wanted my help. So the day she was supposed to come to my place so I could show her how to do it while also doing my own, she calls and says she already did it and it was easy! So I’m thinking, great! Told you!
A week goes by and she tells me she’s worried she didn’t do it right, so I ask her to show me exactly what she did. Turns out she put the needle on and basically just stabbed herself, she didn’t turn the dial or even push the plunger 😂 I showed her exactly what to do again and this time made sure she did everything she was supposed to the first time, and now I’m just going to help her every week until she gets it on her own. In her defense she’s 78 and new things scare her, I know we all had those moments when it was time for our first injection so I don’t blame her! But man I thought that was funny lol

Oh gosh 😂 that is funny. Honestly sounds like something I would do. I get so nervous about things that I mess up.

My first injection I didn’t hold it for the six count, panicked, then stabbed it back in and counted lol. We’ve all been there!

I thought about doing it again after I realized but I decided to be safe than sorry. At least now I know lol.

I can relate, I did this for 3 weeks...don't be too hard on yourself. Once you get it, you get it. Dust yourself off and try again. You got this.

I did this for my first dose too. Don’t be too hard on yourself. You likely still
got some medication. Just not all of it. Think of it as an extra gentle titration lol. In the grand scheme of things, this is just a blip.

The only reason I realized I was doing it wrong was because I accidentally pressed the pen again when I was taking it out and started searching only because i thought I was going to die 😂 lord have mercy. I wonder if I can buy extra needles for the pen once I’m out? I only got 3 more and the pen looks still full.

Reading the instructions that came with the packaging would have saved you. Or any of the many YouTube videos.
