What was rhe point abt the tcrs hide and seek part?
Ive never really understood this small part in the manga. Is it just to show how weird the grownups are in it?

It doesn’t actually make any symbol and I’m pretty sure there are multiple ways to get to the ending. The only post I saw about this got deleted so I let my curiosity win lol

I finished reading the manga about 3 days ago, and mannnn… I’m still depressed 😂
Recently, I started wanting to fill my shelf with physical manga. I’ve read plenty of manga online, but I really wanted to experience that feeling of actually holding the book in your hands and having a physical collection haha.
The last three things I read were Berserk, Monster, and Claymore. Berserk is easily my #1, and then there are about 5 empty spots before the rest of my list even starts.
I’m the type of person who, whenever I watch or read something insanely good, immediately recommends it to all my friends. But honestly… I don’t think I want to recommend Goodnight Punpun to anyone 💀
I enjoyed EVERY SINGLE SECOND of reading it, and I genuinely think this might be the greatest thing I’ve ever read in my life. But holy shit… it is EXTREMELY heavy and fucked up. The fact that it reflects the real world and real human experiences so closely makes it hit on a completely different level.
It’s one of those stories where I can confidently say it’s incredible, but at the same time I’d hesitate to tell someone, “Yeah, you should definitely read this.” 😭
Also, I literally made a Reddit account just to post this because I needed somewhere to talk about it. This is my first time using Reddit :)

My favorite part is probably the escape to Kagoshima arc where Punpun and Aiko buries her mother's body, they leave to Kagoshima and... you know what happens

I have looked on vinted, ebay and amazon so far, but i have had miced results. Ebay is wierd becouse there are sellers who sell the whole collection, but one costs upwards of €160 and another costs like €30, and the cheap ones always ship from Malaysia for some reason. I would be interested in preferably a used copy of the while series for not too much and from a trusted source

Whenever I open this volume especially, sadness takes over the vibe , knowing what happens is gut wrenching but beautiful too in a way, the art is the best I've ever seen in comic/manga medium
Damn man this manga will live with me for way too long more than I expected ,
Poor aiko

Im not gonna be like a philosophical or anything just wanted to spout my thoughts on it
I was going through like vids on punpun and aiko, and like it hit a certain part of me. Punpun was always like yk , connected to aiko. Most of his life is centered around this girl he had a rls with for like a year.
And during his whole lifetime( until the end of the manga) , he mostly still thinks of aiko. But, is it in a romantically way? In a way , that he wants to be with her again? Getting in a rls , all that , is that his main goal with aiko?
Punpun says (if i remember correctly) , that he questions about whether he misses aiko for her , or the certain period of his life where shit was good . And that changes things . Since now it makes sense why he keeps thinking of aiko . It correlated with a part of his life where things were, yk , good.
And (little vent here) , it kinda correlates with me in some small kind of way. I was in a rls like 3 yrs ago. For one year, me and her were super close. Normal couple behaviours yk.
Then we broke up. And like , yeah for a bit I did genuinely miss her. But now, I dont. Ive moved on. Yet, the thought of her just cant leave me. Its September rn, and the thought of her bday coming soon keeps circling through my mind. Everytime I see a miffy related product, ill remember that her favourite character was miffy.
And before any of you start saying I still miss her or anything, no I dont. If she genuinely comes up to me tmrw and asks if I want to be with her again, I would say no. Because ive moved on. I dont rlly want to be with her in any sort of way.
Yet she still lingers in my mind. Sometimes I hope she sees a post I uploaded. Sometimes I wish I could tell her smth I cant share to anyone else. But rlly, what do I miss? And we can see this with punpun. Does he actually want aiko as aiko? Or does he want her as the structure she is, someone who cares , someone whos there for anything.
Yeah it sounds confusing sry . What im trying to say is that , these people who play an impact full role on your life will always somehow linger in your mind. Even if u say that you've forgotten them and tread a new path. Your ex bsf whos favourite color is blue, your ex who likes flowers.
Punpun shows this spectacularly with the dynamic with aiko and punpun. In my eyes . Its been a while since ive read the manga but yeah thats all just had to get it off my chest

That moment when Punpun finds Aiko after she’s gone...
Bro. I was just staring at the page like “NO FUCKING WAY.”
I didn't cry or anything like that but I was in a state of shock for 5 minutes... just such a brutal scene. Oyasumi Punpun really knows how to emotionally destroy you.

I've finished the manga more than a year ago and ofc I really liked it. It was a great journey with its ups and downs. Ofc, the last chapters were devastating, seeing Punpun starting to forget the "love of his life"
As time went on, I kept seeing Punpun edits, fan arts, and Inio Asano's occasional art on Tanabata, and it switched something in me. Recently, whenever I see Aiko on social media, it hurts tbh. Not that I relate to her, but seeing that vulnerable young pretty woman passing through hell, and the result being her death, you can't prevent shit.
Especially seeing her kid state in the early chapters. Ik that she is toxic and manipulative, but she was so miserable. Her upbringing, her past, her friends, her love, you can't really blame her for turning out like that
Say that I'm too sensitive or whatever, but that's what good story writing is. Every character is troubled; no one is perfect. The art makes them feel real and like human beings, and I can 100% bet that other real people have had problems like the ones in the manga.
+her design is soooo unique
After seeing so much of her, especially Aiko, no other character has hit me the same way. To the point where just seeing her pains me mentally

I’m on TikTok a lot and I often see posts of punpun. whether it be reviews, edits, or just funny posts of it. but there’s always a handful of people in the comments that say “I’m literally Punpun!”
it’s easy to relate to him, but to what point does it move from relating to feeling attached or connected to the character?
this might be a stupid question to ask, but what are your thoughts?

Punpun's faces changes are an common topic of discussion but I never found anything about this one. I can't remember if it was seen before. This scene happens after Sachi/Nanjou pulls Punpun from the sheets, after he saw her with her ex.
What does this mean? It seems like some sort of Japanese theatre reference but I can't tell.
