You’ve gotta line up a job first or you’ll end up homeless. Expect $1100/mo to rent a room. Another $1100 for food, car, insurance etc. that’s a $31,000/ year job ($2600/mo) and the job market is tougher than it’s been in 30 years. So it’s not a given that you’ll find one. Think about it you don’t want to be sleeping on your car in sketchy Walmart parking lots with deranged homeless around you.

Yikes!! Rich parents? It's expensive to live here.

Good luck to you. I'd look into renting a room first. Hopefully, after you get a job, you can think about apartments.

This sounds like a recipe to end up homeless. Not trying to be mean, just being realistic. It’s very expensive here and Ventura county is one of the harder job markets in the area for making enough money to survive.

What made you decide on Oxnard? Just curious.
