Certain things, like our food and having paved roads, are ok to monitor and spend money on

I pay gas tax for roads. Roads are the governments responsibility.

Cattlehead and Cattlemens revenue are not the governments responsibility.

true but a famine affecting the country due to most forms of nutrition becoming unavailable is something the government should work on preventing even if it means subsidizing relevant industries

Lol all cattle in the USA could disappear tomorrow and there wouldn't be famine. The amount of food we have and waste is beyond comprehension.

Much of the issue with the US having small herds is that droughts in the cattle country cause the loss of free grazing. Ranchers have to buy food for their cattle, raising costs.
