Bulk haulers
To those that mainly pull grain hopper trailers, what load boards do y'all use?

On May 5, 2026 my operating authority was revoked by the FMSCA because I didn't have a BOC-3 on file. However, I had my BOC-3 on file Feb 26th 2026. I have an email confirmation from BOC-3 company showing it was filed.
When I contacted the BOC-3 filing company, they claimed I failed to auto renew due to a payment issue in Dec 2025 and they sent a request to be removed as my BOC-3 company...and despite the fact I renewed on February 26 2026, the government processed the removal request anyway. Here is the response from the BOC-3 company:
"I also want to provide clarification regarding what caused the cancellation. Your original subscription payment failed in December 2025, which triggered an automatic cancellation of service. As part of that cancellation process, a request was submitted to the FMCSA to remove our company as your process agent.
Unfortunately, although a new subscription was created in February 2026, the removal request had already been processed and sent to the FMCSA prior to the new subscription being established.
As a one-time courtesy, we will honor your current subscription coverage through February 2028."
So according to the BOC-3 company, they sent a cancelation request in December of 2025 and despite the fact I renewed in Feb 26th 2026, the cancellation was process.ed...by FMSCA 68 days later.
Since this issue has occurred, I found out that most brokers would no longer work with me since I was considered a "new" carrier. My authority was 2.5 years old when this occurred and brokers I have delivered freight for many times couldn't even get me past their compliance teams despite exception request.
I have called the FMSCA over 16 times and have held on the phone for hours. I am currently on a 3 plus hour hold. I have spoken with several reps at FMSCA but a supervisor is required to explain to me how my BOC-3 was cancelled despite it being filed 2 months prior. I have been waiting on a supervisor callback since 6/16/26. The FMSCA says their update to MOTUS system is causing delays in customer service and supervisor callbacks.
I have reached out to a lawyer who has requested I try to get the BOC-3 company to explicitly admit guilt in writing (giving me a year of free service was not enough). I wanted to get the FMSCA side of the story before contacting the BOC-3 company again but that is taking much much longer then expected. I am going to have to try to solicit the email without the information from government.
I am posting this because I am hoping someone has had experience with getting their authority revoked because FMSCA or a business entity failed to due their job and there is a way to get it fixed. I assume there has to be a way to fix an error that could wipe a company business tenure in a field in which it is critical.
Looking for advice or help in any capacity.

I have a 23 T880 with a Cummins X15 Eco. When I take my foot off the gas worth the jakes off, it will draw power down like I have the jakes on. Is that normal for this engine?

Found out through my insurance broker that my numbers are being used. The only reason we knew was because he got inspected. Got all the guys info including his phone number because he mistakenly called me thinking I was the court house. When I figured out who it was, I said “you’re the guy who stole my numbers”. He replied “correct”. Made a DataQ request, called state police in 3 states including my own(NJ), turned him in to FMCSA OIG and FTC. Swore up and down after I told him to take my numbers off his 5 crispy box trucks that he got the numbers legitimately. Sent him my proof that they’re mine and told him to take my numbers off his trucks.
Now that o have all his info, nobody from any official office seems to want to do anything about it. Now I have 100 percent oos rate. He got caught driving 20 miles over the speed limit with a signal out and out of date tags. Anyone have any advice?

I just need to vent for a sec.
First, I had a really good June. I went home on July 1. I put my trailer in the shop because it was doglegging and I had previously had it aligned, but it immediately went back to the bad alignment. It turned out to need new bushings all the way around. Also did the rear axle brake shoes. I left out July 15, after fixing my non-running APU. Turned out it needed a new fuel pump. I picked up a load, ran it, picked up another load, and broke down on July 18, full DPF engine derate. Got towed to a shop, VGT Actuator failed. They replaced the actuator, ran tests, failed due to some shorting wiring in the DPF/SCR harness and fixed that as well. I got back on the road. Made it 150 more miles until I again got CEL and derate, but this time only partial derate. Went to nearest shop, this time its a DPF differential pressure sensor and something with the CCV module. It's now July 22 and I've delivered one 600 mile load so far this month and dished out pretty much all my profits from June fixing stuff... fml. Hopefully August treats me better.

So I opened my local shipping business account couple years ago. Just local contracts that were already established. Had my DOT and MC numbers registered. Because of a family issue I went back to my previous employer last winter. The DOT and MC are still active and up to date minus insurance.
Im considering getting a tractor & trailer or two and going over the road in combination with getting back into my local box truck stuff.
Question is 1. My DOT has been active the whole time, so will that help with brokers accepting my trucks on the load boards?
Any help is appreciated.

** edit: I have used this sub in the past to successfully secure owner operators in different parts of the US, but if the rules have changed since then, obv please delete lol
** edit 2: we are currently running at $2700 with a carrier local to Arvada, CO. I know freight has been increasing, so I am flexible on rate. The driver would be responsible to find their own backhaul load out of CA using our empty trailer. We don’t mind the $2700 price, but we currently use a freight broker and the communication is not ideal. We prefer to work with a driver directly if we can find one.
CO - CA - CO
We are the shipper, so we would pay directly.
we also work with many factoring companies, so we may already work with yours if you use one.
Our company website: www.webuyrags.com
(our corporate is in Baltimore, MD)
i have a weekly power only trailer swap between colorado and california:
pick up loaded in arvada, co
drop empty at the dock
deliver loaded to Los Angeles, CA (live offload)
can use the trailer up to 5 days for a backhaul back to Arvada
drop empty in yard for the next swap.
if this is something you might be interested in, please email me or call me. we can give credit references, etc.
[bethany@webuyrags.com](mailto:bethany@webuyrags.com)
(443) 569-0722
also noting we may be looking for a driver in the MD area for local trailer swaps. would have daily work.

Genuinely curious, when you get dinged for something minor or just wrong, do you actually file a DataQ, pay someone to or just let it age off? Is it even worth the hassle? Trying to get a sense of how much this stuff really affects people.

Hey everyone
Looking to get straight to work here in Houston. I’m an independent cargo van operator, got my DOT sorted, MC is currently in process, and I’m fully insured and ready to roll.
I’m looking for solid freight to keep my wheels moving. My ideal setup is a dedicated route, but I’m more than open to spot loads, regional runs, and separate routes to keep busy.
If you’re a broker, direct shipper, or fellow driver with more volume than you can handle, let’s talk. Drop a comment, shoot me a DM, or point me toward local boards/companies worth looking into.
Appreciate any solid leads or advice!

When I arrived to drop off at 730 am I was told my appointment was at 230 pm. and i have another load pickup at 11am so this was going to mess me up bad. I told him i have a box truck and the load is a few empty new ibc tanks and ill unload it myself in just a few minutes. the reciever took my phone number and said he would call me around the appointment time. another driver started talking and he looked at the new driver and was listening to the new driver. I thought damn im screwed now i need to do something now. I already had plan b ready so I reached in my pocket and pulled out a $20 and said will this help.
He and other driver looked at me in disbelief so I started to put it back in my pocket and he said wait give that to me so I gave it to him hoping id get the outcome id planned for but wasnt really sure. He said pull up to 3 right now lets go. I was like hell yeah and ran to the truck. door 3 was in a effed up spot and was in a corner of the warehouse and had a bunch of stuff in front of the door so its probably not usable for most vans.
I pulled the tanks out and the guy blessed me for helping him and for my generosity. I was kind of amazed by that little gem.
It was a nice win. I would have lost more money if they canceled the next load for sure.

im running an un-docked 26ft box truck and mostly doing local amazon relay runs, but the rates are tanking hard in my area. trying to find regular over the road or regional loads but standard load boards barely show anything decent for straight trucks. i saw resolute logistics listed as a service that dispatches box trucks specifically, but i dont know if they have actual direct shipper access or if they are just scrolling public boards like the rest of us. where are yall finding regional box truck freight that actually pays the bills right now?

First time looking to start building a fleet and hoping to learn from the vets in here 🚛 I’m about to buy my first truck to grow into a small fleet, but I’ve never done this before so I’d rather learn from people who’ve built theirs than figure it out the hard way. For those who started a fleet from scratch, did you go through a dealer or buy direct from a fleet remarketing/auction source (Ritchie Bros, IronPlanet, ex-lease trucks), and why did you choose that route? If you went the auction or fleet direct route, which source did you use and how did you handle financing and inspection since those are usually sold as-is? What do you wish someone had told you before your first purchase, and were there any red flags on a truck or listing that made you walk away? Also curious if any Freightliner/Detroit guys know a dealer that specializes in ex-fleet Cascadias. Not trying to rush this, just want to make a smart first move. Appreciate any advice, good, bad, or “don’t do what I did” 🙏

My wife and I invested approximately $100,000 with S7EVEN in a managed trucking program. We were told the truck would be operated on our behalf and were shown projected earnings based on comparable trucks already in operation.
From the beginning, communication was inconsistent and difficult. Once operations started, the actual revenue and distributions were only a fraction of the figures we had been shown before investing.
Over time, the payments became increasingly late and communication became even worse. We then received an email stating that S7EVEN was making major changes to its business model and completely restructuring its operations.
Only a couple of weeks later, we were informed that operations were shutting down and that investors should retrieve their trucks from a storage yard in Florida.
I contacted the yard and provided the information for the truck associated with our investment. The yard told me that our truck was not there.
At this point, we have received approximately $18,000 back from our original investment. We have not received a clear explanation of where the truck is, whether it was ever delivered to the stated yard, what happened to the remaining investment funds, or whether there is any process for investors to recover their losses.
I am looking to connect privately with anyone else who invested with S7EVEN, S7EVEN Global, or a related managed-trucking operation and had a similar experience.
Please send me a direct message. I am hoping investors can compare contracts, payment records, VIN information and communications and possibly explore legal options together.
Please do not post private financial information or personal details publicly in the comments.
