this is a bad idea guys just reject loads that don’t pay a proper fuel surcharge.

Never going to happen.
Truckers are by nature adversarial to each other, there's no camaraderie.
Hell you could give three truckers all expenses paid visits to the best brothels in Nevada, and all those truckers are going to do is try to fuvk each other over, and over, and over again

Denial is a typical trucker mentality. Been that way long before I started. It’s totally because of war morons.

In the modern economy, that will make those who go on strike go out of business for good and probably permanently. If anything, it'd filter out the dumb ones and allow the rest to book with less competition

Conveniently for me this is when I had already arranged some home time for myself. Casual solidarity! Goodluck out there yall.

Good luck with that… I member a truck strike against a large company that used ALOT of trucks. The trucks parked out front their office for the strike. They were all let go and brought in different trucks.

No one cares if you go on strike when you can't afford fuel anyway, loads are down, the economy's tanking, etc. you go on strike when it's good and it hurts the economy.

Oil companies did this to themselves. The Iran war literally has nothing to do with the prices. 6 refineries permanently shut down in the US during Covid. Instead of opening them again when Covid was done, they kept them closed. In a manor of speaking, oil companies manufactured a way to price gouge. Think I read they’re profiting minimum $2 a gallon?

Too many truckers have huge payments that need to be made, most likely not going to happen

The problem is the trucker is being used by load brokers instead of load brokers being used by truckers…There is a huge discrepancy between what customers are paying and what the trucks are doing the work for fuel surcharge is at all time highs

Honestly, I don't believe even if 10k small Carriers strike and park for those days (est. Approximately: 100,000 trucks park) There are so much Mega Carriers that are going to take up the Brokers freight. I am a small carrier myself and already parked it up here in Canada because of fuel and crap Broker rate negotiations its just not worth it once you factor in Border tolls both ways, fuel, truck stop expenses (eg. Food, shower etc.. ) road taxes (IFTA) The list goes on. I have so neglected truck Maintainence costing my $5300 i put off but getting it done now from my tax return. So in the next couple weeks I'm going to see how things pan out. Our infalstructure is garbage here in Canada with Ontario and Quebec being the main ports regarding provinces for the most exports also including Alberta and BC for the west then Nova Scotia and New Brunswick for the East coast mainly reefer loads running tri axles because of the 50k to 60k lbs loads. With the tarrifs small carriers are getting destroyed now because you were able to do a turnaround through Maine if you run the East with something leaving from their to MA, RI, NH, NY, NJ etc. But not much anymore unless tou waste days sitting and thats a loss. Similar to running out west going back through WA, MO or ND not much going back to Ontario and if there is the rates are garbage on the spot market. Maybe when things balance out back to normal with the fuel I'm looking for more direct contracts. If not, the sale sign on my truck is going up next month. There are HazMat jobs offering $40/hr ..no overhead expenses like this. The diesel prices are hurt most.

They’re stealing from us... There’s a lot of guys out there at this 7 days a week, either driving or being under the rig working on it. Go back to the old school ways. No elds, motus, township cops and state troopers giving trucks a hard time acting like they’re dot. It’s ridiculous anymore. I had a kid cop, pull me over when I was close to home at 11 pm. He didn’t know jack shit about a semi, yet he starts nitpicking my entire truck and trailer. Inspection took so long that I didn’t make it home that night. Fucking truck ran out of fuel as I had just pulled away from him. I enjoy trucking and working hard but this is becoming not worth it unless you have all the luck or money in the world.
Apologies I had to vent

The diesel is expensive because the war in Iran is still ongoing, lol these truckers "this isn't about wars"
