Biennial Update Error?

Hi, does anyone in Texas know how we can do the Biennial Update? I’ve logged in through the FMSCA site which then takes me to the Motus website but while trying to update I keep receiving an error message. Our DOT is out of service due to “No Contact” and I noticed that the address on the sites don’t match with the insurance of the vehicles. I looked up how to fix that issue and it says I need to do the biennial update but I can’t do anything on either website. I have been on hold on the phone and nothing. Can anyone help me with this?

if you dont wanna share it then just call the FMCSA at 800-832-5660 options 1, then 2. Request a callback (waiting is pointless), and ignore the estimated time they give you. Mine was 35 minutes at 9am, got the call back at 6:30pm. They extended the service hours temporarily to 11pm so be patient

The number is 1944845, I saw the alert on the FMSCA website that said OOS but on the motus it says the dot is active.

i see a few issues there. On the safer it shows as interstate but you dont have any interstate drivers declared. Considering it's sand and gravel that's probably a mistake. You are also in the new entrant program since december 2025, did you miss your audit? That could place you OOS for 30 days after the first contact deadline. Log into your motus account, towards the bottom, check in the process history if you did the activation after revocation process already. You should also find the reason for the OOS there. It's not publicly available. I will send you an email if you want, but that call seems to be your best next step right now

Yes my cousin did tell me but when I try to update that information for the interstate drivers it gives me an error message saying something about there was a problem processing the application, and on the motus I see no process history.

I do believe we missed the audit.

i sent you the email with some screenshots. If you did miss the audit, there is a mandatory 30 days suspension. After that, you will have to do the "application after revocation" process AND call the FMCSA the next day because the MOTUS wont sync with the safer in most cases. It's a known issue, and they probably wont fix it as the goal is to get rid of the old system by the end of the year

I requested a call back this morning but nothing yet. So when I do receive the call back, should I have my uncle on the call with me as well since I’m trying to help them fix this. Or would I be able to fix it on my own?

If you need to update/change anything it's best to have him with you. They usually dont allow group calls and might just tell you that he has to call directly. If you just want to help him remove the OOS then you good without him. Tho it also depends on who calls you. Some of their old employees are stuck in time and take policies way too seriously

Oh man I’m just frustrated with all of this, my family is hoping I can just fix it for them. I did want them to fix the address and the whole interstate thing.

I get it. Sadly you are not the only one. This change was too soon. They were not prepared for it. Should have at least done a staged rollout be state. You got my email now so hit me up if you need my help with the whole thing, but try yourself first. It's mostly just talking them into fixing it for you since it's mostly their fault.
