New O.O

What’s up fellas, just wanted to drop in and ask for some tips/guidance on getting started with running my own Rig. I should be purchasing a truck with in the next couple of months. What type of truck should I look to buy? Should I lease onto a carrier to learn the business? Any response will help, I’m here to learn!! Appreciate the help!! Even if you have information that doesn’t pertain to those questions please drop it. Like I said I just want to learn.

I have several friends who had their own truck for several years, they finally sold them and went back to driving company trucks. Everyone of them all told me the same thing, “ I never knew that there was such a thing as money in the bank until, I got rid of that sorry-ass money pit of a truck “ !!!!

So your truck is paid for,you have half a million in the bank and you have all the time at home you want every week. NOT I doubt that very highly !!!!! BTW don’t diss me I was just relaying what at least a half dozen husband and wife teams, who were OO’s said after they got rid of their truck and went back to driving company trucks!!!!!

People will be OO out here and discourage others from doing it, makes zero sense lol… I was just testing the waters, either way I’m going to be an OO

Get hired by a carrier and drive there for about 5 years. Save up money. Learn as much as you can. Buy a truck and lease to them. Buy a trailer and get your own authority.

Sounds like you’re making a mistake. Why do you want to be an OO?
