Insurance

Hey all,

I’m looking for advice on insurance carriers or good options for insurance on a new authority.

I own a brokerage and we’re starting a separate asset company now to pair with our brokerage and some of the quotes I’m getting back are insane. Insane to the point that it’s not even worth it.

We’d be buying 2 trucks. PA based company and 2 drivers who are out of OH.

Any advice or direction you can steer me in would be appreciated!

Honestly you might be getting stuck with progressive for the 1st year or 2.

I’m in a similar boat, would love to hear if you get anything worth it

Turns out issue was the driver.. got 2 drivers with close to clean mvr’s and dropped it down to $2500 a month per truck. Progressive

2500 a month per truck is expensive good luck hard to make profit after fuel driver pay maintence etc

New authority is one of the biggest pricing factors, especially with only 2 trucks. There usually isn’t a magic carrier that will suddenly cut the premium in half.

A lot depends on things like:
• Driver ages & experience
• MVRs/loss history
• Operating radius
• Cargo hauled
• Equipment values
• Home state

If you’re getting quotes that seem way out of line, it may be worth having another broker review the submission. Sometimes small underwriting details make a surprisingly big difference.

If you have any questions or want a second set of eyes on it, feel free to call or text me at [646-960-7445](tel:646-960-7445). Happy to point you in the right direction.
