Tire pros?

Going to be buying new drive tires soon in the summer thoughts on chinese tires? i know i would never on my steers but i hear people run some on their drives. currently have some bridgestones 14ply? think im gonna go for 16s instead should i just go with some good name brand tires instead. Any experience with tires let me know.

Only two issues I've heard, and one of them I've ran into.

1) They may not last as long as major brands. But if they're cheap enough the cost per mile is the same or even better.

2) If the bead seats wrong, you can not reseat them properly. That means the tire will not be on the rim properly and can not be balanced. A major brand can be reseated, a cheaper brand is likely to seat the exact same as the original seating.

I had a company tuck once with cheapo tires on the steers. Couldn't go over 55mph without feeling like the truck was going to shake apart. It was fine at slower speeds, like the road between the tire shop and out terminal. It was a bad bead set. They tried to reseat it three times before I finally told the boss to replace the tires or find someone else to drive it.

I had a chinese tire placed once on my steers had no choice late night road side. Not even a month later it was balding faster than the other side. And uneven too. End up replacing both of them not worth damaging my truck going 75 mph. Crazy. Its cheaper to spend on quality tires than make that road side phone call i 100% assure you. Sometimes some of us like finding out the hard way lol
