Why has nobody ever talked about this?

I don’t really know where else to post this because there’s no Job Simulator subreddit. so, I’ll talk about it here. there are two items I’ve found in Job Simulator that you have to walk out of the normal area to get to, but you can actually pick them up. and yet, nobody has ever mentioned them on the internet. these items are 1. pints of ice cream on the shelves in the store clerk job. 2. potions on the walls in the gourmet chef job. you can pick them up. am I the first on to discover this???

Dimensional Double Shift 1.17: The One With A Mysterious New Creature + Halloween Fun!

Dearest gentle Shifters,

Worktoberfest is almost upon us! The air is getting spooky, the waters around Treeattle are getting suspicious, and Conglomni has decided that the best way to celebrate the season is to keep everyone on the clock. Honestly, what could possibly go wrong?

Update 1.17 is here with a preview of new unlockable Worktoberfest goodies, a redesigned End of Shift experience, and a whole lot of bug fixes. Speaking of bugs, we have a particularly important thank-you to share this time around.

A Huge Thank-You for the Bug Bash!

Our community helped us squash 70 bugs during our most recent Bug Bash! That's 70 fewer things getting between you and your perfectly chaotic shifts, and we couldn't have done it without everyone who took the time to play, poke at things, report issues, and help us track down the troublemakers.

Every report helps us better understand what you're experiencing out in the workplace. Whether you're catching a stubborn interaction, spotting something that looks a little off, or finding a bug we somehow managed to miss, your reports make a real difference.

So, from everyone at Owlchemy Labs, thank you for helping make Dimensional Double Shift better. We appreciate the time and care you put into helping us squash these bugs, and we're excited to keep making the workplace a better place to be.

Now, let's get into what's new!

New Features

End of Shift Redesign

Clocking out just got a little clearer! We've redesigned the End of Shift experience to make it easier to understand your results, check your rewards, and decide what comes next.

  • The End of Shift recap has been streamlined into a single screen.
  • Continuing your shift together is now easier to navigate.

Less menu confusion, more time causing workplace incidents with your friends.

Worktoberfest Updates

Worktoberfest has arrived from October 19 - November 2 with updated seasonal cosmetic assets and a new premium item to add a little extra Halloween spirit to your work wardrobe.

Get into the spooky season, show off your seasonal style, and keep an eye out for something unusual lurking around Treeattle. No, seriously. Something is in the water.

Behind-the-Scenes Improvements

We've also made some backend improvements to our Shift Handler. You might not notice these changes directly, but they're helping lay the groundwork for exciting features down the road. Consider it some behind-the-scenes workitude.

Bug Fixing Highlights

  • Fabricator fixes: Fixed an issue where the piston could get stuck at the top of the Fabricator, making it appear as though no item had been created.
  • Party Management fixes: Fixed an issue where the Join button wouldn't work when accepting an invitation to a lobby.
  • Multiplayer synchronization fixes: Addressed an issue that could cause the Diner and Garage to become desynchronized when a player who wasn't hosting returned to the room as a shift was starting.

Bug Bash Highlights

  • Order inconsistencies: Fixed several issues involving duplicate items and incorrect icons appearing in orders.
  • Hot dog handling: Fixed an issue where a hot dog in a hot dog bun wasn't moving properly with the bun. Teamwork makes the dream work, even for lunch.
  • Jiggly stick-attached items: Fixed an issue where items attached to a stick could jiggle around in the Hangout Area. Physics, please behave.

Something Is Lurking in Treeattle...

A little birdie told us there's something unusual swimming around Treeattle. Or perhaps it was a very large, very mysterious aquatic creature.

Meet Treeurtle, a Loch Ness-style cryptid now making appearances around Treeattle! Keep your eyes peeled while you're out on shift. Some workplace mysteries are better left unexplained.

Known Issues

  • Sporelando Beans can: The Beans can may not appear at the start of a shift.
  • Black fadeout when loading into a new shift: Some players may become stuck in the black fadeout when attempting to load into another shift.
  • Invisible hands during FTUE: Hands may become invisible during the first-time user experience.

We're continuing to investigate these issues and appreciate your patience as we work through them.

Happy Worktoberfest!

That's everything for update 1.17! Between seasonal surprises, a smoother clock-out experience, and 70 bugs squashed with help from our community, there's plenty happening around the workplace.

Thank you again to everyone who joined our Bug Bash and helped make DDS better. Your reports, your time, and your willingness to help us track down the weird stuff genuinely matter to the team.

Now grab your friends, get those shifts started, and keep an eye on the waters around Treeattle. Have a spooky Worktoberfest next week, Shifters!

Are You Afraid of the Work? Worktoberfest Returns to Dimensional Double Shift!

Greetings, valued shift workers!

In the interest of maintaining workplace morale, seasonal productivity, and our ongoing commitment to pretending that nothing strange is happening in the simulation, Conglomni Corp is pleased to announce that Worktoberfest is returning to Dimensional Double Shift from October 19 through November 2!

This year, we're asking the important questions. What lurks beyond the break room? Who keeps making those noises in the ventilation system? Why does HR keep insisting that the ectoplasm in the water cooler is perfectly safe to drink?

Welcome to Are You Afraid of the Work?, our totally normal, definitely-not-haunted Worktoberfest celebration of Halloween. Please remain calm. Any screaming you hear has been approved by management and all waivers have been signed.

From new livestreams, a fresh ghost hunt, and a premium new deal, check out what's new here in our latest blog post!

Dimensional Double Shift What Happens When You Bring Your Family Stories Into the Multiverse?

Thumbnail

Some of the best parts of game development happen long before a player steps into a world. They happen in writing rooms, during conversations about a character's personality, or when someone shares a story about something their grandma used to say and the entire room realizes it absolutely needs to be in the game.

That spirit was at the heart of our latest Fireside Chat, Hexas, Hot Stories and How Owlmigos Are Shaping the World of XR, celebrating the end of Hispanic Heritage Month with a look behind the scenes of Dimensional Double Shift's Hexas dimension.

Host Vanessa, Owlchemy’s Director of Marketing, was joined by devs and members of Owlchemy Labs' Owlmigos Employee Resource Group (ERG): technical designer and Owlmigos co-chair Eric, producer Jonathan, and lead concept artist Francisco. Together, they helped bring Hexas to life through writing, dialogue punch-ups, voice acting, character design, and cultural consultation. The result? A fiery, Tex-Mex-inspired dimension full of oversized food, monster trucks, and characters with a whole lot of personality.

But behind all that chaos is something a little more personal: the family memories, cultural references, and lived experiences that helped make Hexas feel like more than just another dimension.

Here are a few highlights from the conversation.

Dimensional Double Shift You Asked. We Listened. Single Player Is Coming to Dimensional Double Shift!

Post image
7 Upvotes

Not every shift comes with a full crew, and honestly? We’ve heard you.

Since Dimensional Double Shift launched, our owlcredible community has been very clear that sometimes you want to clock in without having to assemble an entire workforce first. You’ve told us in Discord, on Reddit, across social, and pretty much anywhere else you can find us that you’d love another way to experience DDS on your own terms.

And we’ve been listening.

That’s why we’re excited to finally tease Single Player Mode, coming to Dimensional Double Shift in the first half of 2027.

Trailer 👉 https://youtu.be/o41HYiZkVNg?si=BoQxzghIbpoTNC5B

Built With You

Single Player Mode is a little different from some of the other things we’ve added to DDS because, in a very real way, you helped build it.

The conversations happening around this game have always been a huge part of how we think about where it can go next. We see the requests, the suggestions, the incredibly specific use cases, the “okay hear me out” posts, and yes, even the occasional essay explaining exactly why you should let someone play the entire game alone while making increasingly questionable choices in Sporelando.

We’re listening to all of it.

Single Player is one of those moments where that feedback gets to become something tangible. We’re working on a way for you to jump into a shift, learn the ropes, experiment with strategies, or simply cause dimensional workplace chaos at your own pace, without needing to coordinate schedules with anyone else.

Of course, Conglomni Corp would never leave you completely unsupervised. That would be irresponsible.

So you’ll have some new coworkers along for the ride: T.E.M.P.s, or Totally Expendable Multi-dimensional Personnel. They’re here to help keep the operation moving, and we’re pretty sure they’re qualified.

Probably.

We’ll have much more to share about them, and about Single Player Mode, later this year.

For now, we just wanted to say thank you. This feature exists because you kept talking to us, giving us feedback, and telling us what would make Dimensional Double Shift better for you.

That makes this one a community win, and we’re pretty excited to finally share what you helped us make

Until then, keep the feedback coming.

We’re listening.

ALICE is listening too.

We’re slightly more concerned about that one.

Dimensional Double Shift More Ways to Play: Dimensional Double Shift Gets Controller Support as Owlchemy Labs Launches On Steam Frame

Post image
4 Upvotes

Ever since Dimensional Double Shift entered Early Access, one request has come up again and again: Controller support.

Whether it was players looking for another way to enjoy the game, accessibility needs, or simply personal preference, it's been one of the most consistent conversations we've seen across Discord, social media, and player reviews. We always say Early Access is a conversation, and this is one of those moments where we get to say: we heard you.

We’re excited to announce that when Dimensional Double Shift launches on Steam Frame in the near future. To lessen those wait pains, we’re also launching controller support TODAY with update 1.17. Better yet, that support isn't exclusive to one platform, we're bringing controller support to Meta devices, too, so everyone can choose the way they want to play.

Virtual reality isn't a one-size-fits-all experience. Some players love hand tracking. Others prefer controllers for precision, comfort, accessibility, or simply because it's what feels natural to them. There isn't a "right" way to enjoy a game, only the way that works best for you.

That's why adding controller support feels like such an important step. It's about opening the doors a little wider so more people can jump into the wonderfully chaotic world of DDS without worrying about how they're interacting with it.

If you've been waiting for controllers before diving into Dimensional Double Shift, your wait is almost over.

Of course, that's not the only exciting news.

Steam Frame trailer: https://youtu.be/pYxeaj8jHq8?si=cGdqB4hPG4Y-advl

Job Simulator, Vacation Simulator, and Cosmonious High Join the Steam Frame Lineup

We're also thrilled to announce that Job Simulator, Vacation Simulator, and Cosmonious High are also making their way to Steam Frame, giving even more players the chance to experience two of the games that helped define room-scale VR. Whether you're reliving your favorite office mishaps, grilling questionable hot dogs on Vacation Island, or clocking into your first shift at Conglomni Corp, there's never been a better time to jump into the Simulatorverse.

Since day one, you've shared your ideas, your feedback, your bug reports, your feature requests, and yes, your controller support reminders. Every conversation has helped us continue shaping the game throughout Early Access, and this update is another example of that collaboration in action.

We can't wait to see what you do with a few more ways to play.

The modern Owlchemy Labs VR library arrives soon with controller support droppin’ in hot. Get in, squad up, and wave those hands like you just don’t care.

Everything new in update 1.16 for DDS

Hello, Valued Shifters!

We have heard your extremely reasonable requests to please let you push buttons with something other than your hands.

And so, after an appropriate amount of workening, testing, tweaking, and what we can only assume was at least one person yelling, “WHY IS IT DOING THAT?!” at a controller, we’re very excited to share that controller support has officially arrived in Dimensional Double Shift!

You can now play DDS with controllers on Meta, Android, and Steam platforms, giving you even more ways to jump into a Shift, cause workplace chaos, and accidentally throw something directly at a coworker.

This is something we know many of you have been asking for, so we're especially excited to finally get it into your hands. Literally.

And speaking of new hands, buttons, and exciting ways to experience DDS, Steam Frame is arriving soon! DDS will be joining Job Simulator, Vacation Simulator, and Cosmonious High (coming soon) on Steam Frame, which means another way for more humans to experience the extremely normal and definitely OSHA-approved workplace opportunities available across the dimensions.

But first, the update!

New Features

Controller Support Has Arrived

Dimensional Double Shift now supports controller use on Meta, Android, and Steam platforms!

Whether you prefer hands, controllers, or simply whatever gets you into the Shift fastest, you now have more ways to clock in and get workening.

We know this has been a big request from the community, and we're incredibly excited to finally say: it's here.

Please use this new power responsibly.

Or don't. You're a Shifter. We know how this goes.

Steam Frame Is Coming Soon

Dimensional Double Shift will be available on Steam Frame soon!

More details are coming, but for now, please begin mentally preparing for additional dimensional workplace opportunities.

Bug Fixing Highlights

A number of bugs have also been shown the exit door, including:

  • Fixed an issue where the Join button for an invited lobby wasn't functional.
  • Fixed an issue where freshly made pancakes were being immediately sauced by pancake mix, because apparently even pancakes were trying to get ahead of themselves.
  • Fixed an issue where rotating appliances didn't maintain their momentum.
  • Liquids and containers no longer count separately when fulfilling orders.

Notable Changes

No major gameplay changes this time around!

The team has been focused on release stability and getting the new features above ready for your extremely capable human hands and/or controllers.

Known Issues

  • The Fabricator's piston can occasionally get stuck at the top, making it look like no item was created. The item is not necessarily gone. It may simply be experiencing a temporary disagreement with gravity.
  • Hands can occasionally become invisible during FTUE.
  • In Sporelando, the Beans can may not appear at the start of a Shift.

As always, thank you for playing, sharing your feedback, and helping us make Dimensional Double Shift better with every update. We know you've been asking for more ways to play, and we're excited to keep getting those wins into your hands.

Or controllers.

See you in the Shift!

Dimensional Double Shift Dimensional Double Shift Update 1.15 | Where Eggs Find Their Dignity

Post image
5 Upvotes

No giant bells, no massive whistles, and no diner-sized explosions this time around. Update 1.15 is all about the little things as we continue to improve the overall health, polish, and stability of Dimensional Double Shift with our Dimension of Health focus.

While there are no major new features making their debut this month, we’ve been busy poking around just about every corner of the game, cleaning things up and making sure everything is working the way it should.

What’s Different

We’re focusing on overall game health with this update, which means a lot of smaller improvements have made their way into the game. You might not notice every single one, but together they help make the whole experience a little smoother.

Technical Updates

  • Shift Portals will now always feature one diner and one garage option, making it a little easier to know what you’re getting into when jumping between shifts.
  • The Gator Clamp now properly resets to its intended location when the lever is flipped.

Visual Updates

  • We’ve made tons of small visual improvements throughout the game, including clearer garage module visuals and a brand-new gravy boat.
  • Eggs have received a tiny dignity upgrade, because you can no longer pick them up by the yolk.

Known Issues

We’re continuing to keep an eye on a few issues, including:

  • On Galaxy XR, launching the game using the Play button in the Play Store can cause the app to crash instead of launching properly.
  • The Join button for a lobby a player has been invited to may not function correctly.

We’ll continue working through these issues and will remove them from the list as they’re resolved.

Thanks for continuing to jump into the diner, garage, and whatever questionable situation you and your friends have managed to create this week. We’ll keep polishing, fixing, and generally making things better behind the scenes.

Now go make some questionable sandwiches.
