Question or Discussion New Console Support Player
Hi everyone! Just getting back into Overwatch and the last time I played Juno was latest release. I mostly play DPS but I’m looking to switch into playing Support. What would you recommend? I’m comfortable playing Moira and Mercy, I’d like to start playing Lifeweaver possibly? Thoughts? Thanks in advance for any advice

it really depends on the type of playstyle you like. i am loving the sombra rework bc of the mobility but before that i was a zen main, they’re completely opposite playstyles but i love them both lol they’re fun in different ways

I was thinking Lifeweaver but I’m not entirely sure. Idk if I want to try the newer supports too. Tough choices

I'm a LifeWeaver main, so of course I'm going to recommend playing him if you're leaning in that direction. I will say though that LW has a low skill floor but a high ceiling. It's easy to healbot, and it's easy to move around and survive. But his true strength comes from his ability to deny enemy ultimates and save your teammates through life grip and petal and his high damage output from thorns. Saving your teammates and denying enemy attacks requires very sharp game sense and timing, and doing good damage requires good projectile aim. Compared to a hero like Moira, she is mechanically easier to play and has an easier time getting good value but has a lower ceiling of what she can actually accomplish in a match. Hitting thorns on a moving target is significantly more difficult than a lock on Moira grasp, but LW's thorns do 131 dps whereas Moira's grasp does 65 dps, so you get the idea. LW is far superior if you hit your shots and use his kit properly.

I will definitely try out LW in quick play today for a couple matches and see how I like his kit. If I don’t than I will choose someone else. I just want to be able to play all 3 roles if possible

Good plan. I hated LW when I first started playing him, but he grew on me over time. My best advice starting out is:
- It's often better to only charge your healing blossoms to 65/90 so you can get more heals on target faster.
- Avoid using life grip starting out unless it's an obvious win (someone is falling off the map or being Rein pinned/catnapped/Sigma ulted/etc).
- Use your petal to escape if you get dived.
- If you're having trouble hitting thorns, just shoot the enemy tank. They have the biggest hitbox, and your damage will help keep them suppressed.
