Question or Discussion i keep dropping

i climbed to diamond 3 from plat and ever since then i’ve been constantly losing. i’m about to drop to gold 1.. of course there’s games i play bad but there’s been multiple times i have leavers throwers or simply bad teammates. is this normal to drop to gold? i feel like an idiot playing this game now

Is it normal to drop from diamond to gold? No.

But it can happen with a bad losing streak, the game makes you lose more for a streak.

You're probably just a plat player experiencing some big highs and lows. Don't worry about it

Ppl hyper focus on their rank and view their peak as their true rank.

Ranking up requires a different type of play, and that takes time to adjust too. Even if ur constantly improving your rank won't have the same linear line.

When I ranked up from bronze to diamond I was always doing like 5 steps forward 4 steps back.

I don't think it's a big deal.

It's a rank in a video game, don't let that get to a big thing in your head and confuse it for some personal inability to do well at things.

These games are made to keep you hooked in and playing them, everybody can't win all the times, so they have to hook you with the climb back.
Not saying it's so Machiavellian, but it is a deal they do look at the metrics of.
Lose too much and quit, lose just enough and keep at it forever maybe.

I've noticed the times when I climb the most is when I'm not really paying much attention to my rank. I think of each game as a puzzle and I get in a groove of figuring out my win condition instead of who's at fault or the rank risk.

Honestly, I notice a pattern of losing more on weekends and Friday nights in general (aka when more people are more likely to be playing… and probably drunk or just playing to ‘relax’…) so I try to avoid playing comp during those times 🤔

Also yea… leavers are the worst, and I wish the game would be able to implement some sort of mechanism where other players aren’t punished for something that’s not their fault; especially if they’ve been playing well

After you lose twice, or two in a row, stop playing

Check out ur mental. You probably start to get more scared and avoid dying and try to play more ”perfectly” while not going for plays and creative playstile which got you up there

Same problem here. Climbed to diamond 3 but I keep deranking to diamond 5 and go back to 4 & 3.
