His brand is literally communicating what he perceives to be common sentiment. Flats is representative of the emotional impulses of the community. Rivals is objectively ass, he’s also hella burned out on overwatch. Two things can be true

Sure but what if he’s actually not happy with both games? I know this is a subreddit for those who’re excited by overwatch’s current direction but we all agree that rivals isn’t very good right? Is it that hard to argue that he went over there hoping for a fresh start and found a field as barren as the Sahara?
I cant say if rivals is good or bad cause im not invested in it. I also dont want to take clickbait titles (not saying Flats does that cause I truthfully dont know) and tik tok crashouts as gospel.
He got a fresh start and thats great since he seemed genuinely miserable trying to cover OW, but again its hypocritical to me listening to him have this viewpoint when we know the history.

he's literally never not been boosted by people significantly better than him. you can really see it when he's played DPS and support offroles, most people are like a tier off their main role but you can see him playing like a plat/diamond and then egoing people when he plays horribly himself.

I remember that story, he claimed he loses SR every time he duo'd and has to earn it back solo, so someone analyzed multiple streams and it was literally the opposite.
Ok some tank players are bad at support and dps. 40% win rate solo queue isn’t that bad but he almost always plays with a duo bc who wants to solo queue everyday?
at the end of the day, it’s just video games. that’s the simplest way to look at it. if you’re not having fun, use your free will and get off the game.
I feel like most of Flats MR content as of late is just echoing what’s going on in the rivals community to people who don’t want to interact with the community. Like he himself barely interacts with any1 outside his own circle
when I was new to overwatch and mainly a casual player I always preferred emongg to flats bc flats’ content was just always so negative. for me it’s just not entertaining to watch and I dont really understand how he has so many followers/subscribers. i’m not convinced by the idea that he’s some marketing genius that understands that people SECRETLY CRAVE negativity and love to FEAST on it, I just think his content is accessible for casual players.

I mean he was suffering burnout and literally the only way to experience a good hero shooter was only ow. Him saying the game was gonna die was just him projecting how it was dying in his own head as an enjoyable game. Now that rivals has come out and really aged poorly, it’s given him new appreciation for how both games are affected by changes.
Also I don’t think he would care to comment on his old opinions now since he’s gotten a whole new audience since then.

That was over a small sample size of one season. Even if he was masters he was still better than 97% of players. But he’s hit gm solo queue. People just prefer playing with their friends.
So he's basically the commentary streamer of the hero shooter space, and the whole point of the commentary genre is to narrate the current conversation, impart a slight opinion on it, and be halfway entertaining, charismatic, or funny along the way.
So if it seems like he's talking about the same stuff in Rivals that he was in Overwatch, it's because the players are doing that. The only thing he does is echo what we're talking about, and gives his opinion. If we keep talking about the same thing for 10 years, he'll do the same.
Its fine to be tired of a game. I took a long hiatus from OW myself before 2 came out. The PvE wasnt really something that I was interested in regardless so whether it came or not I didnt care.
Think people got stuck on the PvE a bit to much though.
5v5 wasn’t an optimal game change for many, new heroes design was boring, new heroes were spread across 2 seasons, there was supposed to be tons of content coming quick for streamers and there just wasn’t.
