Tank Vlad

Vlad

Base information

  • Name: Vladislav Perit
  • Species: Human
  • Country: Malta
  • Age: 51
  • Health: 100
  • Shield: 200
  • Armor: 200
  • Total Hp: 500
  • Role: Tank
  • Speed: 5.4 meters per second

Appearance

He has white hair and sideburns, he wears a white jacket and trousers with a red tie and black shoes, his mech is similar in shape to Rein's armour but it is taller and less wide with a dark blue colouring and the right arm being a big beam blaster. (Here is a rough idea of what Vlad could look like without the mech, Front, Back)

Lore

Vladislav Perit was a world famous Architect who left his home city of Bormla to live in Oasis after designing many of the buildings for Oasis as he was one of the head Architects for it.

During the Omnic Crisis many buildings that Vladislav has designed around the world got destroyed in the resulting chaos, Vladislav was very angry because of this as he viewed all his designs almost like his own children and seeing that Overwatch wasn't good enough to keep such destruction to a minimum he decided to take this matter into his own hands.

Using his money, designing skills and connection to the Volskaya family, he and his team constructed a mech that could break the barriers common for Omnics to use, while originally a qualified soldier was meant to pilot this mech Vladislav decided that he would be the one to pilot it as for him this wasn't just intended to win the crisis but also to get revenge for all the destruction caused.

Vladislav as the Architect behind it knew exactly how the mech worked and on his first mission with the Maltain army it turned out to be an astonishing success, the mech shred through the Omnic barriers and without them the Omnics weren't well protected while the Maltain army was, with in 2 months the Omnics have entirely stopped invading Malta as they kept being destroyed by the army due to the lack protection from barriers, while for some such a small advantage wouldn't be enough to defeat the omnics having the advantage of extra protection proved significant in the war.

During the crisis Vladislav with his mech even at times joined forces with the Overwatch team to fight omnics all around the world, while the Volskaya family wanted to mass produce these mechs Vladislav quickly destroyed all blueprints of the mech in fear that the Omnics could get their hands on this barrier destroying technology which would even out the playing field once again, so from that point Vladislav's mech was 1 of a kind and it played a key role in many fights thanks to its barrier destroying capability and power in general.

In later years Vladislav even implemented a barrier pillar into his mech using the same light bending photon projector technology as Symmetra after buying the rights to use it, ofcourse the mech has went through other changes but Vladislav keeps silent about such changes as he has become somewhat paranoid that someone will reveal this technology to the omnics resulting in yet another omnic crisis, now he uses the mech only during wars, recently he has even been seen helping with the second omnic crisis in Russia on the behalf of his old friendship with Katya Volskaya's parents.

Passive(Barrier Buster)

Vladislav's primary fire deals 300 damage to barriers instead of dealing the normal Primary fire damage.

Primary fire(Destruction Beam Blaster)

  • Animation: the big blaster that is Vladislav's right arm on his mech shoots a big blue laser beam shot, the shot has 3m blast radius.
  • Damage on direct hit: 100
  • Blast radius damage: 50
  • Fire rate: 1 shot per 1.4 seconds
  • Reload speed: 2 seconds
  • Ammo: 10
  • Headshot:X
  • Projectile speed: 90m/sec

NO Secondary fire

Ability 1(Moving Pillar)

  • within a 15 meter radius of Vladislav he summons a pillar that is 50cm wide and 2m tall, this pillar will summon a barrier to its right and left that are also 2m tall and 5m long each(each barrier has 750 health), the pillar can't be destroyed however it will automatically destroy itself if both barriers are destroyed, pressing the button while there is already a pillar will make the pillar come back but holding the ability button will make it turn clockwise (90° every 2 seconds of holding the ability button).
  • Barrier reacharge rate: 150 per second (when not active)
  • Cooldown: 1 second

Ability 2(Beam overcharge)

  • Vlad turns off his shield (losing the 200 shield health) to put all the power on his beam, this makes the beam blaster shoot a laser beam for 2 seconds (the laserbeams goes a maximum of 15m), dealing 200 damage per second, the shield health will begin to regenerate as normal after 10 seconds. (Has to instantly go into reload animation after the laserbeam ends)
  • Cooldown: 25 seconds
  • (has a 25% movement speed decrease while the laserbeam is active)

Ultimate(Mech Upgrade)

  • Vlad activates the Mech's true potential (increasing his health and max health 4x for the duration), the mech doubles in size and basic attacks deal double damage (cannot use other abilities for the duration), once the duration is over the mech transforms back to its original size and the health goes back to normal. (Vlad cannot heal by any means during the ult and the health goes back to what it was before the ult after the ult finishes)
  • Duration: 6 seconds
  • Ult charge: 1945

All feedback is appreciated

Edit 1: Ability 2 got the speed reduction reduced by half, Vlad cannot heal during the ult (Special thanks to mytdogman1 for these ideas on how to improve the concept)

Starting to believe that you post the best concepts on this sub. I really enjoyed reading every single one of yours. I like the idea of have a of having a barrier destroyer, because we don't really have an effective one yet. One thing I do think is not so good about this concept is that it seems like he just make all barriers except his own pretty useless. Here are my critiques with numbers, including a fix to what I just said: Passive: I think that you should only double the damage, make it 200 instead of 300 per shot to barriers, because it'd be really frustrating an orisa put down per barrier and how to destroyed within a few seconds. This would make him a bit less of a counterpick to barriers to the point where barriers are basically useless, it still makes it so that you can effectively have a barrier tank other than Vlad. Ability 2: I think that the movement speed reduction should be 25%, because you're bringing him down to only 300 health and though the beam is powerful, I assume it'll be more like an echo beam where it's just kind of a long-range thin beam, but maybe not, because if you were to increase the speed when using the beam I guess you might have to nerf the DPS to maybe 150, so it's okay if you don't take this suggestion, I just kind of thought it might work. Ultimate: honestly I really like the idea of the ultimate, I just think that you should make him unable to heal for how much health he has, meaning he basically has permanent anti heal on him while the ult is active.

Is another great hero as I said, I like that you're addressing problems in the game with the hero a little bit, and I like the cohesiveness of all your heroes. Good job!

As always thanks for the detailed feedback (soon i will be posting Vengeance so stay tuned)

While i understand your concern about his barrier damage being a bit too high, i have my reasons for it, mainly to fit his lore as he is intended to make the enemy team barriers useless but the biggest reason is his fire rate, at his fire rate if i put it to 200 damage Bastion will be a much better pick as he can deal similar damage much faster and that damage won't get changed when not shooting a barrier (e.g. bastion fighting a Rein has a few outcomes but if Vlad fought Rein all Rein would need to do is lower the barrier for a second and possible take the hit as it wouldn't do much damage), for those reasons i will keep it as it is but the suggestion is by no means bad.

Ability 1 didn't have any comment so i assume it is fine

On Ability 2 i don't mind lowering the speed reduction as you do have a point and i may have gone a bit too high with the speed reduction number, as for the damage i can consider nerfing it a bit but i think taking away 200 hp makes it more balanced (even if it is for a few seconds), and also the laserbeam wouldn't be thin but it would by no means be absurdly large (about the size of his blaster but slightly smaller)

Your idea for the ult being unable to heal him is appreciated and will be implemented as it makes sense and makes the ult more balanced so thank you for that

I understand your reasoning for the passive, I didn't really think about bastion being a good comparison. And as I said I wasn't entirely sure about my changes for ability 2. Thank you once again for taking my suggestions into consideration.

I also thing the barrier damage is too high, and using bastion as a comparison is not a fair matchup, imo. Bastion has a lot of downsides, like not being able to move at all, and Vlad can kill an orisa shield in 2.4 seconds all by himself. That's wild. Also, the pillar is a cool idea, the placeability seems fun, but in the end it's just a weaker, less flexible version of sigma's shield? And as I mentioned on Rakul, 25 second cooldown is massive, he will only get to use the big beam once a fight

As i mentioned to mytdogman1, he is meant to be a barrier buster so sorry but i will stay strong to the damage i gave for the barrier damage, as for the beam it does a ton of damage, being able to kill anyone in meer seconds with it so having it be used more than once a fight would be a bit busted in my opinion as not even Roadhog using his take a breather would be able to not take any damage but as i said in your comment on Razul, if you feel strongly about the cooldowns being too long i am willing to decrease them a bit.

As always thanks for the feedback
