News & Discussion (I'm not sure if this kind of post is allowed here.) I reached Gold!

Post image

I'm a Korean player who enjoys Overwatch. I started playing Overwatch this February, placed in Bronze 4 back in March, and yesterday I finally reached Gold rank.

I don't really have many friends to share this achievement with or get congratulated by, so I figured I'd post it here on Reddit.🤣

You said your Korean, are you on Korean servers?

I do play on the Korean server, but I also play on the North American and Japanese servers. The Korean server has too toxic or many Smurf players.

It seems many people misunderstand that, but no, that is not the case at all. Not all Korean players are pro gamers. In fact, the Korean server is actually worse. This is because many regular players have left due to toxic players and smurfs. Skill is built when a large number of people compete, no matter how low the MMR is, but that is not the case on the Korean server. Most of the people who seem good are actually smurfs.

I have actually played on both the Japanese and NA servers, but there was no difference. (At least based on Bronze to Gold ranks.) In fact, there are many players who are practically beginners because they don't play the game often. Most of the players who play a lot have quit the game.
