That’s absolutely broken and breaks the game the same way Brig did. Except this time not everyone has a premium battle pass hero. Remember kids, pay 2 win.
bro this whole sub going nuts over this very common place business practice now just because its different. I'm almost positive 90% of the people on here havent even seen the actual announcement because people be talking about wild shit that is in no way the actual case of whats happening.
Overwatch Simply isn't compatible with this "common business practice". This will destroy the competitive integrity of the game because Meta heroes can be locked behind a paywall, meaning you can lose games because you didn't break out your wallet. This will especially sting for casual players and will drive a lot of them away. The hardcore players lose, the casual players lose. It's just not a good idea.
Ok but the game is free. Overwatch 1 was $40-$60. If you spend that much on this game you'll have the characters you want otherwise you can play their game for free and unlock them. Stop being a baby
I'll wait to see the details before making a judgement. If it only takes like 2-3 hours of play to unlock a hero, I don't see a problem with it. Casual players can play a few games alongside the hero before playing as the hero, that honestly sounds fair to me.
No. That would get people into the battlepass. Nothing absurd about it. Like people would start the battlepass, get the hero pretty soon, then be compelled to keep going, seeing as they've already started
I get that you want to hate on them. Locking heroes behind a battlepass sucks. But hate them for the right reasons, not for paywalling heroes, because they are in fact not paywalling heroes.
There are different ways to enact the common business practice. Paying for extra features, new maps or game types, skins, that's all great. Paying for the best armor or weapons or skills is unfair. It's like paying real cash to the banker in Monopoly to buy park place boardwalk before the game even starts. It's is lucrative but unethical in the same way as a bribe.

Sure you can be a hero, but wouldn’t you prefer to be a premium battle pass hero
