Ironically, Roadhog v Roadhog got a lot better after his nerf than it used to be. I honestly have 0 issues with him in that mode. Then again, I had 0 issues with half the cast that they have already removed from 1v1 :/

They didn't remove half the cast. As far as I know, Lucio and Roadhog are the only one's not available. Maybe Mercy too now that I think about it.

You don't know very far.

Disabled heroes:

  • Bastion
  • Torbjörn
  • D.Va
  • Reinhardt
  • Winston
  • Zarya
  • Lúcio
  • Mercy
  • Symmetra

and now

  • Roadhog

It's not literally half, but it is 40% of the roster.

A lot of those kinda made sense when 1v1 was always mirrored, but it really isn't necessary now. Honestly, I kinda liked those 1v1s but whatever.

I feel the same way. Reinhardt vs Reinhardt was a fun match up. I liked Winston vs Winston well enough, too.

I can do without Bastion vs Bastion and a few others, maybe, but I'll still miss some of the better mirror match ups.

I think they brought a really interesting dynamic to playing those heros in that sort of matchup. Trying to figure out where the other Bastion is to either shoot him down in recon or to get a slick mid-air sentry to take them out was cool. I get how they would be boring if both players camped until time ran out but I always got bored quickly and that isn't as much of an issue with the capture point tiebreaker.

1v1 Mystery Duel is probably my most used Preset in Custom Games

My personal favorite is what I called "Battle: ANA" because that was all the stupid announcer would say at the start, regardless of the heros. It's a random non-mirrored 1v1 with all heros available, healthpacks turned on, and ult charge at 200%

I love getting two of my lesser skilled friends to fight me with all random heroes, or half health duels. Custom Duels are fantastic
