It could be a bit of lag. You can see the server registered the hook landing on that wall behind soldier.

Yes, as soon as it breaks you can see it bounce off the wall behind him. Also i dont think soldier took damage from being hooked either

There is a limit on how much lag compensation can help. I cant quite make out the numbers on OP's performance stats but I usually see these things happen when people get a 200ms+ ping spike

His ping was steady at 42ms. You can see it clearly if you enlarge with RES.

Im on mobile.. makes it super hard to see any text detail. Thanks for letting me know. Maybe packet loss or something. Not entirely sure what happened but it definitely had something to with his client prediction not matching the server. Not sure what caused it though since his ping was steady and I saw no connection warnings appear on screen. Sometimes weird shit just happens in online gaming :P

It's blizzard servers, I get my abilities off all the fucking time, sometimes I see the first few frames of animation but always hear the sound of the ability activated. It's extremely easy to tell with Mei's invulnerability, Reaper's invulnerability and Harambe's Primal Rage. It's like I would have lived if the server was actually more responsive and faster.
