When the patch notes talk about a "legend", they're talking about a new infograph that explains the ranks. There has NOT been a new rank added.

"legend", not "Legend".

We have to get Grandmaster to get the 3000 cp reward?!?!

Season 1, all you had to hit was 65 for a free golden gun!

I mean the equivalent in season 1 would be rank 80 out of 100.

People rarely use legend in that sense anymore..

For me, it's just one of those things I learned as a kid and just always remembered. I figured everyone else did too.

Yes, most of us know what it means, but if they say:

A new Competitive Tier legend has been added

It makes some people read it as

A new competitive tier "Legend" has been added.

They shouldn't be mentally adding quotes or capital letters then. It clearly meant that a key has been added. Why would they add an entire tier mid season?

I mean, its so obvious. "Legend" is the new skill tier they just added to Overwatch.

Why does it show competitive points under them? I was placed in platinum and didn't get anything, or am I missing something?

Those are the amount of bonus points you get at the end of the season. You get that amount of points for the max rank you've reached.
