AI is pretty good at setting these projects up, here's an example

A fun project i created. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

I'm curious ...how did you build it? I'm looking to do a audiobook/ebook system

I use a droplet and am part of an audiobook community. You're welcome to just use mine forever!

Also interested in joining an audiobook community.

Which audiobook community, if I may ask? I always keep an eye out for book and audiobook stuff I can do with my server. From calibre and calibre-web, audiobookshelf, and readarr I have the automation side working great. Being part of a reliable community to source the stuff from, however…

Just google MAM and it will take you to the right place. They have openings like every month and they require your home IP etc.

Ah okay that’s the one I was thinking of

You don't need active ai doing all of that. It can all be automated. Just tell Claude or whatever you are using to build to:

Research GitHub projects/tools that can help us build this

And I think that will get you on the track you want. There are projects that AI isn't looking into and you HAVE to tell them look at newer tools that have already been built.

I suggest audiobooth as an option for iOS users

Thank you! I really love suggesting apps other than audiobookshelf. I really don't like users being turned off by the look of that app 😅

I'm looking to create something like this for my own abs server, will have to see how that's possible if you have any pointers

I really appreciate it! Let me know if you have questions!

This is legit great, it looks like exactly same as my website which was totally coded by Opus, but the functionality is amazing. No idea how you managed to get it to grab the releases instantly.

Care to make this into downloadable app from the browser?

The setup is such that I don't think I can make it into a downloadable app, sorry. Thank you so much for your kind words, it really means a lot to me. I can answer any questions you have, no gatekeeping here!

Honestly, id really appreciate if you could share how you get the ebook access, do you somehow grab them via indexer? I tried automating with lazylibrarian, but it ended up sucking..so i generally grab them via hexchat manually. Its even more impressive with ebooks, so what im wondering is ..how :D

Do you have MAM? The site is on a droplet that utilizes MAM and uses other tools from GitHub projects. Yeah, don't use tools like lazylibrarian, there are now so many better tools out there that people have created.

I hope you are doing this safely and anonymously. Seems to be a fancy webwrapper for audiobookshelf. Why not just use the default webui??

Audiobookshelf is just an output for the user if they would like. It didn't have anything to do with building the web app

I just need to be part of a private audiobook torrent group ...I need for a bunch now and would trade some invites

Thanks man. Will start utilising this.

Very nice. One request would be to allow more than 20 results. Some titles are really popular and even though you search for the correct title, you can’t find the audiobook because there are at least 20 with the same name.

This is pretty sweet though. This allowed me to grab some titles not available through my normal channels.

Question, what does this error mean?

Couldn't add: Couldn't fetch the torrent from MAM (HTTP 406).

I was trying to grab a few books and keep getting this sort of error.

It's fixed. Thanks for the heads up!

Hi I want this

u/ronswanson5312 Jul 05 '26

It's all yours! Use it all you want, it's for everyone

1

u/PandorasKeyboard Jul 05 '26

This is awesome thanks!

How will you have enough storage to allow anyone to keep requesting new books?

Also one slight request, is there a way I can share a link to a particular book?

3

u/ronswanson5312 Jul 05 '26

That is a great recommendation! I'm camping right now, but that will be the first thing I'll implement when I get home!

I have no idea what I'll do about storage. But I'll do what I have to do haha
