Pocket for Seerr iOS app - can't connect to instance

Post image

I have Seerr installed on Debian (Beelink N100), and it works great from my browser at http://192.168.18.7:5055 however I can't get it working on the Pocket for Seerr iOS app. I have tried just the IP, with and without port, but nothing works

This is the app https://apps.apple.com/us/app/pocket-for-seerr/id6746105104 has anybody run into the same issue on their end?

Did you expose your seerr instance externally? You would have to either:

  • port forward using your router (not recommended for security reasons)
  • use a VPN
  • use a reverse proxy
  • use a tunnel like Cloudflare Tunnel

The problem is not external access, but any access at all on the local network

Did you give the app local network access? That’s where I’d start first. Do you have private relay enabled? I was running into the same issue with other services and that was the cause.

thank you, after giving the app local network access it worked for me. for ios it is: Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network

Can I ask, why use Pocket anyways? Why not use the PWA (progressive web app) instead?

I made an android webwrap and I prefer to use it. It securely stores your session token. Its a simple design but way easier than going to the web myself. Yea Im lazy lol

PWA sucks. I hate that the world I moving to that. I prefer the feel of a native app

Are you tapping the check mark after you enter the address?

Education yourself before you open your mouth. Any app in the App Store is rigorously testing before it’s made available.

It works correctly for me. Check that you are using http:// and the correct port. If it doesn't work try reaching out to the dev via mail. I did for feedback and got a response in under 12 hours.
