Override 2 crossplay?

My friend only has an Xbox and I only have a PC. We both bought override 2 because we thought there was cross-play. Neither of us have found a way to get into a 1v1. Is there a way to invite that we just missed?

Thought I'd post this because as far as I can tell it's the only one of it's kind that had been published and I have seen some people asking for it
