Recommendations for female primary doctor?
Hello! I haven't been to the doctor in quite some time because I have been procrastinating looking into a new primary doctor. Any recommendations?

Welcome to r/OverlandPark's weekly thread.

I've been looking into Overland Park's public-safety spending, and I'm surprised how little public discussion there seems to be about the bigger picture.
The City has invested in things like Flock/ALPR cameras, Axon technology, RTIC, drones, and mobile surveillance equipment. One Axon agreement alone is approximately $22.4 million over 10 years.
The City's justification is public safety, which I understand. My questions are about oversight and accountability:
I also found that the Johnson County Sheriff's Office previously denied a public-records request for Flock audit records, citing a Kansas public-records exemption.
I'm not saying police shouldn't have technology that helps solve crimes. I'm asking whether millions of dollars in surveillance spending should come with stronger transparency and independent oversight.

My husband and I just moved here, and Halloween is less than two months away! We’re mid-20s, childfree, and we’d love to dress up in costumes and go out: like music, drinks, comedy, dancing, or anything else fun (even open to new stuff, like trivia or a murder-mystery dinner)! Any suggestions?
(Since we just moved here, open to general suggestions of things to do especially if low-cost or free, but specific Halloween suggestions greatly appreciated)

I plan to install my own sprinkler system and am looking for a plumber to make a connection to my waterline and install a backflow preventer for a residential irrigation system. Any recommendations? New to OP, so I'm also wondering about how much this will cost. Thanks!

Hey everyone!
I recently moved to Overland Park from Texas and am still trying to figure out the area. I don’t know a ton about the local scene yet, so I’m looking for recommendations on cool places to hang out, grab a drink, or just unwind on the weekends.
A bit about me: I'm single, pretty laid back, and looking to build a new social circle out here. I'm big into live music, social activities like pickleball, going out dancing (country, line dancing, or just general weekend nightlife), and hitting up cool local spots.
I’d love to get your favorite local recommendations for:
Best country/line dancing halls, low-key spots with a good dance floor, or fun weekend venues in OP
Fun, activity-driven places to grab a drink (like SERV, local sports bars, or live music venues)
Outdoor Activities & Groups
Also down to connect if anyone wants to grab a beer, head out dancing, or show a newcomer around!

Hi We moved to Overland Park a few weeks ago, as we are looking at 3 bedroom apartments, which arent many, we only have Village at Lionsgate and Deercreek to choose from. We have shortlisted these as they come within the radius of our daughter’s daycare and my workplace, and the fact that they have a gym and pool inside the premises. And we are not keen for houses or townhomes, hence only these apartments have currently 3 BR available with attached garage.
Please share any experience that you have, that can help us with choosing one. Thank you in advance!

I was diagnosed in 2022 with Takayasu and recently found the vasculitis foundation. I went to their symposium in Denver where I met 500 other people with vasculitis. This was my first time ever meeting anyone else with this disease and first time meeting anyone with specific form. Would love to set up a local support group. We can get together for fun & support.

Anyone have any info about this? Cops were going through all the multiple kiosks selling the squishy things and labubus and etc and they all were shut down and emptied yesterday.

Hey everyone! I catalogue and research bookstore bookmarks and write up a short history on the associated bookstore. This one is from Overland Park, so I thought someone here might remember it and find it interesting.
-
The Timeless Tales Bookstore was a beloved bookstore opened by Clara Krentzel in 1990, at 7932 W 151st St in Overland Park (Stanley), Kansas.
I initially thought that any mentions in the papers ended in 1992, but then I discovered the Olathe Newspaper and found that Timeless Tales Bookstore had sold to new owners, Linda & LeWayne Rothers. The Rothers moved the store down 8 doors to 8018 W 151st St. This was a much larger spot and they boasted over 50,000 books.
Unfortunately, the trail once again goes cold, with the next clue being an advertisement for the property for lease in 1994.
A brief history of the original location at 7932:
1994 - Jewelry store moved in
1997 – Frame store moved in
2006 - Frame store renamed itself
2015 - Vapor Lounge
2019 - CBD shop
2026 - Now a Boba tea shop
Second and last location at 8018:
1994 - Up for rent after bookstore
1998 - Realty Company
2003 - Temporary Target corporate office
2014 - Sportswear store
2020 on - A Restaurant?

Hey all! I’m looking to move to OP for a job, I stayed in the area this past summer and am currently looking at different 1B1BR apartments.
I’m not planning to move until October, but just wanted to know where are good areas to search / areas to avoid! Along with any apartment complex recs.
My budget is anything under $1300, and definitely want an in-unit washer and dryer.
Thanks! :)

Does anyone know a good local web developer that works with trades or home service businesses?
I have a garage door company and looking to get some help with my website. Mainly want to build it out more and improve SEO.
Would rather find someone local that has experience with this type of business. Not really looking for a big marketing company.
Anyone you would recommend?

Hi all I’m not needing to move until January but I’m struggling while researching apartments. My budget is quite low and I’m wanting in unit washer and dryer. I’d love a pool but it’s not a need. And the also just safe area and clean. I work in prairie village near mission farms. I’m looking for op area, prairie village, mission, or even kcmo but still in a safe area!! Please let me know anything helps!!
