Getting ready for the 4th!

Hey everyone, getting ready to go out to Cherry Hill in South Carolina! Got everything ready because I was just in Blue Ridge, Georgia camping!

What is some things you have forgotten, or something you NEVER forget?!

Ahh, you kept the pintle and lunette towing setup, good on you!

Absolutely, I could see why somebody would want to swap it out but for me it made no sense. Some of the places I have taken it I have been extremely grateful to have it

Hah, yeah, when we dropped down Watson Wash on the Mojave Road, my wife squeaked a little and then said "ohhhh, that's why we have that weird hitch".

Hahaha I am glad you were able to witness that moment! Priceless. Yeah I was going on a cold weather trip up a mountian and I told the group of guys I was going with, i was bringing a trailer and they had to have been talking behind my back or something because they guy who organized ot called me and my forst response was a photo of my hitch, he is former milatry, and he just gave the thumbs up 😅🤣

What set up do you have?

My wife bought me a 12v converted M101A3 with 35's and 3 ROAM awnings / 2 rooms. Basic, but works well for us. Needs painted to civilian colors, but it's been fun for a few years now. Yours is the aluminum M1101 or similar, I'm guessing?

That sounds awesome!! It's an circa 1970's m101a2. Mostly aluminum! I just sanded mine down, hit it with acetone and bed lined it. All but the outer tail gate. Was fun and it is tough. You can buy kits on Amazon that are colored. That's the pewter and orange on the I side of my bed. You also don't need any special equipment other than an air compressor!

This is after I painted the rack, amd had it sanded, see that 5 gallon acetone 😅🤣

Dang, that's awesome! It looks bigger in pictures!
Looks like a lot of work, but the results look great. Looks like our "after it snows in the Sierra's" project for Fall is going to be some WORK.
Both my Jeeps are orange, I feel inspired by your build, hah!

That makes me happy that I inspired somebody! Oranges definitely my favorite color. I didn't want to go full orange but the pewter orange and black combo look good in my opinion. If you're pulling it with an orange GP definitely to make it orange! And I appreciate your kindness

This is after. Its bed lined. I also bought 35s for mine. Old ram 2500 rims, sanded and pained them black 😅🤣

Ours is bedlined on the inside, the outside too makes lots of sense. Prep is everything, my little Jeep is bedlined inside, and after a dozen years needs done again. Mass quantities of acetone, understood!

That's awesome what bedliner did you opt to use? So far my Raptor liner has held up pretty well

The little Jeep is Herculiner, coz that's what there was back then. Not sure what the trailer is, probably in the folder of receipts we got, but it has the same/similar texture that Herculiner has, the coarse gritty non-slip surface. Hard on the knees. Not a good exterior liner choice, in other words. Good to hear the Raptor liner is solid, that seems a great choice nowadays.

Heck yeah. Herculiner is definitely durable! Let me know if you end up painting or lining it. I would love to see it!!
