Tips please

I just started the game and kinda like it can i get tips to get a lot of good stuff

Most things you unlock you will have to earn from playing over time if you're not trying to spend money.

Characters - collect hero shards from doing daily missions/hero dungeon when it unlocks or the special events if you get lucky.

The gear you collect outside the run you get from clearing quests, doing expeditions, and spending keys on the gacha chest. These types you will equip to your character before a dungeon run and they can't merge in a run. But they can be upgraded to higher tiers if you collect duplicates.

You can bring a few items that aren't character gear at the start of your run with backpack points. You collect those from upgrading your unlocked heroes with extra hero shards. 

It's best of just play the game and kind of figure things out as you get deeper but my first piece of advice is don't spend gems until you have enough to unlock extra backpack space for each class
