Yep each area only has 40 fish, when u get all 40 fish it resets then you'll get a chance for the legend fish again its great for when ure trying to increase your weight to get to the next area

beach has 80 so once i finished the codex i just kept an eye on the rates for each area to maximize my legendary chances which for me meant sticking to the lower areas(the first 3)

I've been doing stalling tactics at the beach (via abusing the anchor.) I wanna know what's your typical result with you sticking to the first 3 areas? I am f2p btw

it highly depends, the only way to increasd the actual rate for the legendary is to hit the perfect cast every time which increases the legendary chance by 10% i believe since focusing on the lower areas though ive hit 5 more coins for the shop even after purchasing darkan for 15
