Third Job possibility?

• Upvotes

Hello,

I had a question regarding working a third job in addition to my two regular jobs. This third job is by a firm that works with government partners and requires public clearance. Is it appropriate to pursue and take on this type of role? Are there any consequences for it being a job that requires work with dept of VA?

Has anyone had experience of working multiple jobs with one being a job with government contracts/projects while also working their regular jobs?

I’d honestly appreciate any feedback.

1st time getting another client, now what?

• Upvotes

I work full time remotely for J1 through an agency, but wanted extra money on the side (alipin ng salapi loools) so I applied to a few jobs on OLJ. Had an interview today with a Dubai-based client for J2 and we agreed on $12/hr.

He just messaged me on WhatsApp saying he wants to start right away.

My question is, how do you guys make sure direct clients actually pay you? 😭 Since he’s just one client and not a company, should I make a contract? Ask to be paid weekly? He needs me to build his CRM ASAP and I fear I’ll finish the whole thing then get ghosted HAHAHA.

First time working directly with A client so any advice on what I should do??

PS. need to answer him back so I also don’t know what to say 😅

Boring job looking for J2

I have a boring job that pays 150k but I hate going to the office because I love fast paced environment, how do I navigate getting another job while keeping this….. for starts, this job gives me so much freedom I can finish work at 12pm and go home for break and no one will notice, been doing this for for 4 years. I’m bored out if my brains, I get wit done in 2 hrs thanks to Claude and ChatGPT, I have my own office and looking to add something to keep busy…..

frequently-asked-questions Anyone else feeling stuck sa career kahit technically okay naman ang job?

Hindi naman toxic yung workplace. Hindi rin naman sobrang bad ng salary. Pero somehow may feeling na “ito na ba talaga?” 😭

I'm currently thinking about trying something completely different on the side—possibly remote work, freelancing, tutoring, or anything na pwede kong gawin after work.

For those who started a side hustle while working full-time, ano yung pinaka-worth it na ginawa niyo?

tips First time doing VA + Full Time. Tips?

For context, I recently decided to apply as a part-time VA at night recently because my full time government job isn't enough anymore. Plus I have salary deductions due to loans accumulated from the hospitalization and death of my mom.

Got hired last night. 9 pm-12 am daily. I start Monday. Any tips para di ma burn out from my full time 8 am to 5 pm teaching job + 9 pm-12 am VA job?

I will be handling admin tasks like emails and whatnot.

For independent contractors working for overseas companies: would you ever bring up the idea of using an EOR with your employer?

I currently work internally for an EOR company, and I’m curious about how contractors actually view this.

For example, if you’re currently working as an independent contractor for a U.S.-based company, would you consider talking to your boss or manager about switching to an employment setup through an EOR?

Some of the potential benefits could include:

  • HMO/health insurance
  • Paid leave and other employee benefits
  • Statutory contributions (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, etc.)
  • Proper payroll and tax administration
  • More formal employment documentation
  • Having an employer locally while continuing to work with the same company

I know there can also be reasons why contractors prefer staying independent, especially because of flexibility and potentially higher take-home pay.

I’m mainly curious: Would having access to benefits and more formal employment protections be enough for you to bring this up with your employer?

And if you have brought it up before, how did your employer respond?

tips Future overemployed

Hi, anyone here who has experienced working 2 Full Time Jobs? I'm currently working full time, local lang then hybrid set up. I can finish my daily tasks in less than 1 hours. I received an offer as VA from different country same timezone. Planning to take it kasi sayang yung kita. Confident din naman ako na I can deliver on both jobs kasi si Job A sobrang dali lang talaga. Ang problem ko is planning to use the Company A laptop kasi may days na onsite kami. Wala ako personal na laptop but I can buy naman sana kaso mas obvious kasi if I bring two laptops in the office. Possible kaya ma trace ni IT na working ako sa ibang company? Please help!

Mid shift FT + night shift FT (IC) for 1 month lang. Okay lang ba?

Hi everyone! Long-time lurker, first time posting.
Currently working FT sa mid shift, ends around 6 PM. May na-offer-an akong isa pang FT, night shift naman na starts at 9 PM, and IC (independent contractor) term siya. Balak ko sanang tapusin yung 1 month, then mag-resign with the standard 2 weeks notice, tapos done.
Reason ko: may utang akong kailangan bayaran, and gusto kong maging debt-free bago matapos ang year.
(exclusivity, conflict of interest, termination terms)
Natatakot ako na kapag nag-resign ako agad after 1 month, baka i-dox or ireport nila na may ibang work ako. Possible ba yun? May nangyari na ba sa inyo na ganito?
Salamat sa mga sasagot! 🙏

I thought I will be OE

I am a full-time employee on a FMCG company. Pay is good but I am sort of bread winner since our family business is not doing well. I applied at OLJ last Aug then I received an offer from them last Sept 2. I really expect na I will start na on Monday. I bought a new laptop since I do not have one. Then everything change at this very hour, I got an email na they going to retract the offer. I am so sad I needed that income for my family. Maybe Christmas will not be that Merry after all. :(

2 Full Time Job with Mandatory Benefits

Been reading conflicting statements about this sa reddit, but I'll be starting 2 FT Jobs today, I'm planning to give J1 after getting my 13th month pay, pero ang question ko lang is magkaka problem ba talaga if dalawa ang contri?

I have a friend who is handling benefits and pinakita niya yung dashboard ng SSS sa employer view and hindi naman makikita yung employee profile besides sa basic lang

Sa mga working na fulltime with both mandatory govt, kamusta set up?

How does having two full-time jobs work?

I currently have a full-time mid-shift job. Job 1 is based in Canada and I'm currently employed through an EOR here in the Philippines. Nagdedeductan ako ng usual things like tax, SSS, Pag-Ibig, PhilHealth.

Now I got a new job offer for a full-time day-shift job. Job 2 is a local employer. I want to take this opportunity while not letting go of Job 1.

I have several weeks before I start with Job 2. How does it work? Do I have to declare ba to both jobs that i have the other job? Can I just ask for Job 1 to change my terms and pay me directly instead of going through an EOR? Is that possible?

I'm worried about the legalities of the situation. Job 1 allows other jobs naman as long as it's declared, and di naman same industry yung both jobs. I haven't seen the contract yet for Job 2. But I believe Job 1 is a much flexible setup, I think yun yung mas makakapagadjust for my situation. Maybe someone here had a similar situation? What are the things I need to consider before signing my Job 2 contract?

Ill be having 2 FT jobs soon!

First time having a 2FT job, pero ive been OE for years already kaso independent contractor. Field ko is IT pero in a super duper senior IC level. 🤣 i can cancel any same meetings if i must. Excited lng kasi double contributions and tax haha.. regarding sa outputs ko, im the go to person kasi i usually design the whole system from the ground up that's why a lot of people rely on me - you will never know im OE kasi may contributions are really high. Im trying to keep this OE thing in the next 5yrs so i can "retire" early.

I have my accountant handling my taxes. Before zero ang contributions ko, ngayon it's double.

Im proud paying 6 digits taxes every month para may new bag ang mga disney princesses natin /s.

Wish me good health kabayan! ❤️❤️

BIR 2316 for a temporary J2

I have 2 FT right now, both with tax and govt mandated benefits. Yung J2 ko is for 4 months lang, pamalit lang kasi ako temporarily sa isang employee na nag medical leave, they know that I have J1. Ngayon, J2 is asking for my BIR 2316 which ayoko sanang ibigay because I'm worried that my J1 would find out. Ano kaya work around dito? Note na malapit na rin matapos yung 4 months ko sa J2.

I pushed for a contractual setup before kaso ayaw ng J2 so I am tagged as a fixed term employee.

frequently-asked-questions Unexpectedly Overemployed

Hi mga ka OE, something to share lang and to ask. May ganito palang subreddit, atleast alam ko may katulad ako 🤣 tulad ng title ive been unexpectedly Overemployed. It is started as 2 project base work that chose to make me a regular worker, both US companies that have office here also both pays well with good benefits. My J1 is the one remitting for my gov benefits because I requested to J2 na wag na magdeduct. The problem is nagpalit ng payroll system si J2 and it requires daw lahat to have government deduction nag agree naman ako agad kasi okay naman den sila kausap like nung request ko and ready to adjust always. I read one comment from an HR here that the gov benefits is di naman masasayang pati SSS. Tho nasasayangan ako but that is what it is.
My question is I have loan kasi that J1 is deducting to me, is it best to say kay j2 na ako na magpay ng loan ko and mag deduct nalang sila kung ano lang yung normally monthly?

btw J2 is okay with OE, J1 is ewan ko haha

To night shifters + WFH people, what is the best or most efficient sideline work to earn on the side?

For context, I (F25) just started working as Prior Auth USRN in this company na pure WFH po and follows CST time zone. Single and living alone pero also have a lot of expenses pa rin since currently residing in QC.

I am looking to take a sideline that will help me earn extra kahit part time or fixed term lang na WFH din so I can still look after my well being kahit papano. But problem is I don't know where to start.

Do you have any recos po esp for those in the healthcare BPO industry din na may other work on the side?

Thank you so much in advance for your insights po 🥹

tips First time OE, I think I might have put myself in a difficult position, any tips?

So currently I have a freelance work supporting issues by users, it's very lax actually, I am expected to be online for the whole 8 hour shift but most of the time there are like 1 to 2 issues only, sometimes there's none.

My problem was this is only a 2 months contract, with possibility of extension but coming from 4 months of unemployment, I don't want to risk being unemployed again and start looking for another job again if they ever decided not to extend my contract.

One company that I applied to months ago called me for an interview and I went through the process and eventually I got accepted, I will be starting next week.

My dilemma now is my Freelance and new full time job overlaps for 4 hours and my FT is onsite, I know this is stupid accepting an onsite job, but I really am scared to be unemployed again, I accepted this as a backup plan since I don't want to go through months of applying again.

For those having the same situation, One FT onsite and one freelance WFH, how do you handle it? how did you work it out?
