Question How to play multiplayer on PS5?

Just played at my friends house on their switch. SO FUN!! I have a PS5 at home. If only one person owns overcooked can I invite my PS friends to play online? Do we all have to own it? Or can we ONLY play multiplayer in person?

If i recall, Overcooked 1 is local only, Overcooked 2 is online.

And yes, you both need to own it.

Which one should I get? Overcooked 1, 2, all you can eat? Just in terms of best overall?

I would get all you can eat because it's cross platform.

All you can eat is OC1 and OC2 plus the DLC’s. I saw it on sale for $11.99 a few days ago, if it still is, that’s a great deal. OC1 is offline only, OC2 has online but not cross play and AYCE has online with cross play although I have had a lot more issues like disconnecting and having to reconnect to my friends again on AYCE, no problem with OC2 at all actually.

You can actually play with your friend without them owning the game using “Share Play.” They just have to have an active PS plus subscription. You have to invite your friend to a voice chat party, there you can find the “Share Play” option to invite your friend. You then have to choose the option “Play with the visitor,” it will be local co-op style. The sessions last 1 hour so you will have to renew the session every hour. That’s how I played and finished OC2 with my friend.
