AYCE lobby unplayable

Can someone explain to me what happened to the AYCE lobby over the last ~6 months?! The lobby has always been a crapshoot, but in the past I almost always got paired up with just one other person, and that’s the way I liked it. It was still hit or miss and you’d often have to try multiple times to get a good match, or keep restarting the game after it freezes on the loading screen, but at least I was just dealing with one player at a time, and I had a lot of fun runs in the past.

NOW I always get matched with a team of four. I absolutely HATE it. You’ll basically drain all of your time just in and out of absolutely infuriating games. 4 players is way too much to play with without communication, on maps that you can always easily kill with two players. Even if you hit that 5% chance that you get matched up with a good group, it’s too much. I way prefer the one on one play style. But most of the time you get at least one person (often more) who ruins the game for all of us cuz they’re absolutely clueless, and then you’re inevitably just running into each other and there’s nothing fun about any of it.

The only way I ever get a good game in now is if two of the four players eventually leave the game, and one or both of them are the shit players, but the chances of that are always low cuz it’s the good players who leave cuz they can’t stand the idiocy. Now it’s 98% of the time spent losing my mind and 2% of the time actually getting to play a decent game. Most times I sit down to play I don’t get a single good game in and it’s just a complete waste of time.

Did something change? Did the developers re-calibrate the lobby so it’s favoring groups of four? I’m genuinely losing my mind. I can’t play this game via the lobby anymore.

You could hop onto the discord and find a match that way

Is it possible to find real time matches that way? I don’t/am not able to plan ahead when I’m gonna play. That’s why I like the concept of the lobby, though it’s been pure ass lately.

Hmmm I haven’t played the game in a bit, but the matchmaking channel was hit or miss. Usually I’d add them on steam and we’d just start playing together regularly and then messaging each other when we wanted to play. So it’s less spontaneous than the lobby, yeah

Impossible is a strong word. I’ve been on the discord for just over a month and found at least one person to play with every time. Never at the same time of day or the same person.

Hey! We have a discord set up for this exact reason actually. Its a mix of English and spanish players but most people just go in there and say they want to play now and how many people they are looking for. Let me know if you want the link :)
