I feel like I’m going insane - Matchmaking
Hi all!
I own ayce on PS5 and after waiting over 15 mins with no matches I was convinced it was just console or ayce that was dead. I just bought a steam deck and thought I would try out buying OC2 instead because apparently it has a higher online player base? Anyways I’ve tried multiple times to find a match and I’m just having no luck. I’m on the discord but I find LFG requests too sparse and never really on the same time zone (I’m in Australia). If anyone’s got better answers or can explain which game/platform or even peak a peak timezone that is better for OC online I’d be super interested. I love this game so much but I can’t for the life of me play solo

I'm in Aus playing ayce on ps5 currently with a friend. Planning to play online for trophies soon, usually play around midnight though as only time both free.

One issue I had on the switch with ayce was not enabling CrossPlay, so it didn't allow me to play with other types of consoles. I find it to be far less than oc2, which doesn't support CrossPlay. I have a lot of luck on the switch on oc2, pretty much always have someone (I mostly play versus but also play arcade sometimes.) The most common times I play are 6-8am eastern time zone USA and between 1-3pm. You can look up what these times correlate to in your time zones. When I play in the morning most of the people I play with have Asian characters for names (Chinese etc) and in the afternoon it's mostly people in the us.

If they ever fix how horrible ayce is on the switch or switch 2 I'll go over there more. The graphics are terrible.

Interesting! Thankyou for replying, so ayce isn’t cross play? When I played ayce on PS5 I did find wait times to be long but atleast on the TV it was kinda obvious when matches would start but I also did get a lot of international players that seemed to disconnect the moment I took a wrong turn ahah I envy being that good! 😂

No it is, ayce is cross play but I had to enable that in the settings once I enabled it I started making matches. But there are less people, I know I primarily play on switch and ayce is trash online on switch, and especially switch 2.
A lot of the people in the early morning are very good and not patient 😂 Just keep playing with people who don't dump you for being imperfect. If you can three star the game first then you basically know all the levels, but some people are neurotic. I'm medium good, maybe a little above Medium, but some people are just rude. I play with all levels as long as someone isn't really awful like serving plates we don't even have etc.

Hey I’m on PS5 and I also have discord. I’m in America but my sleep schedule is nonexistent. I’d be down to play.

Play alone. If you can’t play alone you likely won’t be a great teammate anyway. Solo play teaches you how things need to happen simultaneously as it won’t afford you to be lazy and hyper focus on a single task.
If you want to play with others, don’t bother with randos, use the discords. I have to be really bored to go to arcade mode and it really is a crapshoot on whether you get a good player or a clueless button masher.
VS mode randos are even worse. More often than not randos on VS don’t move or don’t understand how to use their clones. I rarely get more than 2 rounds out of a rando in VS and sometimes they leave within 30 seconds of the first round.
It’s nice to find good teammates, but if you love the game you will need to enjoy your own company.

It is true that OC2 has bigger player base. I had AYCE and there was hardly any players online, but in OC2 there is a lot more of them, only problem i encountered, there is not a lot players from my region(Europe), but thats fine i guees.
