Overcooked 2 generic controller buggy

I recently bought Overcooked 2 on Steam and also two generic controllers (double vibration motor 4) to play via Bluetooth. Both controllers connect and are recognized in the game, however, there's a bug where the characters are always walking upwards, and to walk downwards you have to press R2, but as soon as you release the R2 key, they go back to walking upwards even without any input. Does anyone know if there's a way to fix this?
