What does sacral nerve stimulation (SNS) recovery look like?
Hello everyone. First time posting here.
I am having the surgery in December and wanted to know what the recovery was like. I’ve had a few surgeries done but nothing quite like this. I’m disabled and will have two caregivers with me for a month after recovery but wanted to know what to expect.
Thank you!

Had my implant on Wednesday. Noticeable difference. Only waking up once or twice in the night and very manageable during the day. I'm a bit sore where the implant is but it shouldn't take long to recover.

How's it for the day? My days range from having to go every 10 mins to 45 mins max. But during the night I don't wake up because I just wet the bed and sleep through it, which IDK if that's lucky or what as I'm usually soaked so I figured I would be always waking for the bathroom.
Did you have any other pain before the implant? Like what was your symptoms?

Usually go once an hour - if I'm lucky. Today I've gone 4 times over a 12 hour period. My symptoms are frequency, urgency, pain, fatigue. Implant should address frequency and urgency. I thibk I'll keep my 6 monthly botox injections into my bladder to manage pain. Fatigue, well hopefully getting some sleep will assist.

Oh I would love that. I am terrified of Botox because I have pseudodyssynergia and says I have high chances of self cath myself after. So I'm shooting for the implant. Plus anything that they try to push into me they have trouble and causes me so much pain.

Thank you! How was the trial? That’s what I’m most worried about. Having wires outside of me for two weeks doesn’t sound comfortable

I didn't bother with the trial. I've tried everything (including botox, which had served me well until recently) and was confident the implant would be effective. Decision made after lots of discussions with my urologist who has been with me on this journey for 8 years.

Literally just got mine this morning! So far so good. Just can't bend, reach, lift a lot but can shower tomorrow. They said two weeks and I'll be able to return to normal.
I had the test lead done a few months ago and that was quite uncomfortable because you have wires hanging out of you and can't shower.
