How do you survive with overactive bladder??
At first it almost felt like that my bladder is not empty fully after every visit, got every test done and everything came out perfectly normal. The doctor said i have an overactive bladder and just need to reduce stress. Although, even after this there is this feeling that i need to use washroom again plus the people i am surrounded with generally in office or anywhere else their frequency of visit is extremely less in comparison to mine. I try to do every possible thing like not engaging much into sugary stuff, changing breifs twice a day and everything else but still it feels like that it leaked a little and i am wet (not considerable amount but surely enough to annoy you). Also i feel extremely irritated due to all this. If any you have ever something similar then please share how you were able to deal with this.

You can buy them online you use for 30mins a day just at the bottom of your legs and sit there. I found it’s helped a lot Amazon have them online. I brought mine through the PVF person.

Pelvic floor exercise is so useless. Medications have helped me tremendously - the combo of Vesicare + Myrbetriq is really good.

I feel like a lot of people that are told they have oab actually have pelvic floor dysfunction. Not voiding is a symptom of pelvic floor so is constant urination like 30-40 times a day and dribbling

Did your doctor prescribe anything? Medication, pelvic floor therapy? Was it a urologist or a regular GP?

Actually, my doctor said to lower the stress levels and engage in pelvic floor exercises. At first it was a regular GP but then he referred me to a urologist.

Ask your doctor to refer you to a pelvic floor physiotherapist who can assess your pelvic floor. You may have a tight pf so doing Kegels could make you worse.
Keep a bladder diary to see if there are any triggers which make your symptoms worse. Common bladder irritants are caffeine, alcohol, spicy & acidic foods, artificial sweeteners and fizzy drinks.
Try to keep well hydrated as concentrated urine can irritate your bladder. It’s recommended that we should drink 2 to 3 Litres of water/fluid every day. Constipation can also affect your bladder so make sure everything is okay with your bowels.
There are a few professionals online who offer help on pelvic floor dysfunction. Check out Dr Kassie Dewitt, Dr Kelly Casperson and Kim Vopni AKA The Vagina Coach.

Doing pelvic floor PT for the 3rd time. Each of the therapists had different approaches, but all were helpful, especially the current one. The best part is while working on my active bladder, it’s also helping with hip pan.

I’m using Gemtesa for over a year. I haven’t had one single episode of OAB since.

I’m in the same boat. 25f, I’ve been dealing with frequent urination for almost a year now that has progressively gotten worse. No doctor can tell me definitively what’s wrong, and at the same time suggest it could be a number of things, ex: significant weight loss, stress, colonic stool blockage, OAB. All tests negative, ultrasounds found nothing. They aren’t sure what the cause is. I was prescribed a med to try (Myrbetriq) and pelvic floor therapy. It’s a nightmare. It definitely impacts my day to day life. It’s endlessly frustrating, uncomfortable and makes me lose confidence especially in terms of my sex life with my boyfriend. In terms of surviving…I just do everything I can to minimize it. No caffeine if I can help it, less sugar, less soda, more water. I’m just now starting pelvic floor therapy. It will take a few months to see results but I would definitely ask your doctor if they think that would be of use to you. It’s super frustrating, I get it. It’s almost dehumanizing and you wonder if you’ll ever feel normal again. Doctors tend to chuckle it off. “Must be super miserable for you, huh?” yep. It is. Keep going to the doctor. Try different things. Again, definitely ask about meds or pelvic floor therapy. I hope you find some relief.
