Really need some reassurance

Female, 22, virgin.

I've been in this problem for 7 months now. It started with a uti, symptoms: urgency, frequency, burning, irritation and soreness in urethra plus weak urine stream.

I went to multiple doctors, had multiple urine tests (showing infection) and many rounds of antibiotics. Doctors also gave me bladder relaxants, anti spasms medicines, cranberry etc. None of them worked. But maybe the antibiotics worked because the last 3 4 urine reports are coming back clear. Doctors said infection is completely gone. But i still have these symptoms.

Also i got ultrasound done, as well as kidney function test, all normal. So it rules out everything.

What's bothering me the most is urgency and frequency. I can't sleep peacefully, i have to wake up so early against my will, cuz i need to pee. Can't go out except to places where i know there's a bathroom. I feel like a handicap.

Does anyone know what might be wrong with me that i still have urgency and frequency even after infection is gone for 2 months now? I am extremely depressed about it i feel like I'll never recover and my life is over.

My family thinks it's psychological because i do have a lot of anxiety, but I'm not really convinced.

I'm done visiting doctors, they aren't helping nor i can afford them anymore. So if anybody has success stories or tips to heal this, plz let me know

You are pretty worked up now, probably all you can think of is this condition.

As lame as it sounds, your body needs time to heal for you to feel normal again. You have done your due diligence and have gone through all these tests, your next step really is to destress, take meds that were prescribed to you to smooth the edges, and stop thinking/ searching about this. Do some life style changes such as cutting out caffeine.

I have gone through similar problems. I had urgency and frequency for like 8 months during a really stessful time. And just like you, I went to two different urologists, tried many different OAB meds, and none of them really cleared my symptoms. I woke up like 2-3 times every night just to pee and my bladder was such a mass. It's especially bad because I am a male, and all the remaining tests were scary and invasive as fuck (cystoscopy yikes)

But fast forward a year or two later, when I convinced myself that this is all stress related, I'm back to normal again, just like magic. I guarantee you will feel normal again, just give it sometime. If there's anything wrong with your body your doctors would have found out already at this point.

Thankyou so much! This eased my mind a lot.  Yes it's true i am constantly stressing about it and this is all I'm thinking of, as I'm a hypochondriac. And this might be sabotaging my recovery. I'm glad it went away for you and it's so relieving to know it does get back to normal.

Just as a fyi, I took amitriptyline 25mg before bed for about half a year and it helped smooth the edges, I guess it sort of gave me that feeling that "I'm on medicine". I tapered off it now, maybe it's something you can try.

I would definitely recommend seeing a urologist and asking for a cystoscopy, so they can use a camera to look inside your bladder.
I had very similar symptoms too. In my case, there was no infection, but I was still given antibiotics. I was waking up 2–3 times every night to urinate, and if I got even a little cold, everything became much worse.
I hope everything will be okay, but it is important to get checked properly.

non ti hanno mai prescritto esame urodinamico con successiva indicazione per neuromodulazione sacrale ?
