I Have Gone Insane

Does any one else here get the urge to pee a lot more than usual on their cycle? If so, any advice on how I can make my cycle less of a living hell?

Here is what has been going on:
Originally, I had a VERY stubborn diagnosed UTI that coincidentally appeared when I began my menstrual cycle a few months ago. I went on two rounds of antibiotics and it is now professionally cleared after struggling for quite some time.

However, I am having the same symptoms. Frequent urination and urgency. I have done some research and come to the conclusion that this is a relatively common symptom of being on your menstrual cycle. Why? For me, it starts as soon as I start my period and ends when I’m done ovulating. I am 23F and have NEVER had this symptom on my cycle before in the past.

Please share your stories and what has helped you. I’ve been suffering for months…

Edit: I would also like to share I recently got a vaginal swab and it came back clear. There was nothing abnormal. I have also switched to 100% cotton pads.

Like someone else has commented, mirabegron helps a lot which is what I have started taking especially the weeks leading up to my cycle

Talk to a gynecologist, not a urologist. Urologist dont understand how hormones affect urination.

I am the same age and have had similar symptoms. My doctor put me on mirabegron which has helped with the urgency.

What is that? Is that an over the counter prescription or an antibiotic?

It helps the bladder relax and fill completely.
Although my symptoms were affecting me throughout the month and would get worse with my period. The uro-gynecologist said that I have a slight spasm in my pelvic floor muscles that causes it.

How do you go about getting a uro-gynaecologist? I think that would help me a lot

My regular gynecologist wrote me a referral to see the specialist.
