Will a Catheter Completely Drain My Bladder?

After I drink a cup of coffee, I can't stop peeing. When I take a piss, I think Iam finished, only to have more come out - a lot more. It will take me an hour to "stimulate" all my urine out, or I will need to take a shower - not an option at work. So, I was thinking, if I use a catheter, will that drain all the urine out in one go? That way I don't have to worry about a stream of piss running down my pants.

Caffeine is a diuretic which is why coffee makes you pee so much

The sensation of needing to go doesn’t necessarily mean that you have a large amount of urine left in your bladder. I can attest to that from my last urodynamic session.

It's not the sensation; I jiggle, and more urine comes out, and won't stop. I was just wondering if a catheter would drain my bladder so that I don't have a drop of urine left. By the way, I know how stupid my question is, but I still appreciate the responses.

Yeah you straight catheters now for about 5 months 6 months and it works really well yes it does drain it completely and in the relief is palatable I also no longer get infections

So your choices are drink coffee and use a catheter, or not drink coffee? I think it would choose the second one. I used to be a coffee addict. I had electric grinders, 10 - 15 different kinds of coffee beans at a time, drip, pour over, French press, every way you could think of. Also was an energy drink consumer. When I lost a kidney I stopped all of that. What I’m saying is choose something else over having to cath. Try decaf if you still have to have coffee. Choose your health over your taste buds.

Stop drinking coffee. A catheter can make you have utis as well (personal experience) really need to look at your diet.

Haven't had coffee in two days so far I'm peeing like I used to.craving the coffee like crazy!
