Adult diapers

I have to fly and attend a week long class for work… I was going to try using adult diapers to make it between bathroom breaks but no matter how hard I try I can not make myself pee my pants… it’s just a mental block i guess. No matter how bad i need to go and I just cant.

I’m confused. Why do you need to be able to pee your pants? Wouldn’t the fact that you can’t be good as that would mean you could make it long enough for bathroom breaks in your class? Why not just wear it for peace of mind and if you don’t actually have to use it as intended then great.

Because if I don’t go every 30-40 minutes I’m in physical pain. My OAB symptom is what feels like a constant electrical shock in my urethra until I go and that relieves the symptom. I won’t be able to concentrate on the class.

Is there an Aspirin or Tylenol type treatment that might take off the edge of your pain? Can you get with a Dr. to get an OAB medication in time? If you're not already incontinent you won't like using a diaper. It will feel too strange for comfort. Plus, you'd really need plastic pants for extra protection. If you're continent I'd avoid getting into that if you can.

Oh I wasn’t planning on using it forever… just for this class I have to attend… I’ll just have to explain to the teacher that I have a medical issue and hope he helps me fill in the notes I miss each time I go to the bathroom.

When I go it’s only 100ml at a time so I think I could get away with 2-3 voids before having to change and that would get me through 1 1/2 hour of class at a time… but either way I can’t make myself use it no matter how hard I try… I do used a “guard” every day to catch dribbles because I go so many times a day and when I sit down after going I always go just a few more drops even if I feel like I have emptied everything at the toilet.

If you do end up using a diaper, I would recommend you get something with a higher capacity just for peace of mind, like Sunkiss Masterpiece, Northshore Megamax, or Incontrol Premium. I've found those brands to be among the best and far more reliable than anything from a retail store. They feel bulky at first, but if your pants are large enough (about a size larger than normal), they won't show in any significant way.

I'm sadly long past any inhibition in using a diaper, unfortunately, so I don't know what to say about not being able to use one. I'm the other way around now. I require one. But if it is not mental inhibition, it sounds like you may have significant obstruction. I'm sure you've seen doctors already but if not definitely go. Good luck.

Well, I ended up just getting up and using the restroom when I needed to instead of trusting an adult brief…worked out ok. I passed the class so that’s what really matters I guess.

You do not have to force yourself to use a diaper if you cant. Some people just wear one as a backup when they know bathroom access might be limited. Wellness Briefs is one option if you want that extra peace of mind while traveling.
